二、部分否定

1.表示“全部，完全”意義的總括詞與not連用，構(gòu)成部分否定，意為“并非都……”

（1）“all，both，every，everything，everyone，everywhere+not” 構(gòu)成部分否定

All bamboo doesn’t grow tall.并非所有的竹子都會(huì)長(zhǎng)得很高。

Not both the brothers are doctors.弟兄倆并非都是醫(yī)生。

Not everyone likes this book.并非人人都喜歡這本書。

Everything is not settled.并非一切都解決了。

（2）“always，wholly，entirely，altogether，completely，all the time+not” 構(gòu)成部分否定

He isn’t always so happy.他并不總是這么快樂(lè)。

Your idea isn’t wholly practical.你的想法并非完全現(xiàn)實(shí)。

I don’t altogether agree with you.我并不完全同意你的看法。

【提示】

①部分否定句式中的not 可置于句首或句中。

Not every book is educative.不是每本書都有教育意義的。

Every book is not educative.

②“not ...and ...”否定and前面的內(nèi)容；“not ...or ...”是完全否定。

She can’t speak English and Chinese.她不會(huì)說(shuō)英語(yǔ)但會(huì)說(shuō)漢語(yǔ)。

She can’t speak English or Chinese.她既不會(huì)說(shuō)英語(yǔ)也不會(huì)說(shuō)漢語(yǔ)。

2.全部否定：用表示全部否定的否定詞構(gòu)成全部否定

None of the ants go out for food.沒(méi)有螞蟻出去找食物。

Neither of the brothers is a doctor.兄弟倆誰(shuí)都不是醫(yī)生。

No apples are red.=None of the apples is/are red.沒(méi)有一個(gè)蘋果是紅的。

He is never so happy.他從未這么高興過(guò)。
