二、表示時間

1.at表示“黎明、午、夜、點與分”。

at dawn/at daybreak 在黎明時候　　　　at dusk 在黃昏

at midnight 在午夜　　　　　　　　　　at night 在夜間

at noon 在中午　　　　　　　　　　　　at sunrise 日出時分

at sunset 日落時分　　　　　　　　　　at six o’clock 在6點鐘

at half past eleven 在11點半　　　　　at a quarter to two 1點45分

2.in

（1）表示“一天的上午、下午、晚上”。

in the morning/afternoon/evening 在早上/下午/晚上

in the daytime 在白天

in the night 在晚上

（2）表示“星期、月、季、年、世紀(jì)”等。

in 2006 在2006年　　　　　　　　　　　in May，2004 在2004年五月

in the 21st century 在21世紀(jì)　　　　　in a week 一周

in spring 春季　　　　　　　　　　　　in fall/autumn 在秋天

【提示】 如果特指某一天的上午、下午、晚上等，要用on。

on a cold winter morning 在一個寒冷的冬日早上

3.on表示具體的某一天。

on Thursday 在星期四　　　　　　　　　on a summer’s day 在夏季的一天

on his birthday 在他生日那天　　　　　on Christmas Day 在圣誕節(jié)那天

【提示】 at Christmas 在圣誕節(jié)期間。

4.in，for

（1）“in+時間名詞”意為“在……時候”；“in+段時間”意為“……時間之后”。

They worked there in winter.他們冬季在那里工作。

We will work there in a winter.一個冬季之后我們要在那里工作。

（2）“for+段時間”意為“有多久”。

We worked there for the winter.我們在那里工作了一個冬季。

I walked up and down my bedroom for a long time.

我在自己的臥室來回踱步了很長時間。

5.since，after

（1）since表示的時間一直延續(xù)到說話時為止，要與現(xiàn)在完成時連用。

He has been there twice since 1982.自1982年以來我去過那里兩次。

I have done nothing since six o’clock.六點鐘之后，我什么也沒做。

（2）after表示的時間是過去，常和一般過去時連用。

He went home after school.放學(xué)后，他回了家。

6.till/until，to

（1）till/until 常用于“from ...till/until”中，表示“一個動作的終結(jié)”；to 常用于“from ...to”中，表示“一個階段的終結(jié)”。

He studies from morning till/until night every day.他每天從早到晚地學(xué)習(xí)。

They stayed here from June to September.他們在這里從六月待到九月。

（2）延續(xù)性動詞用于till/until的肯定句中，短暫性動詞用于“not ...until”中。

I slept till/until ten o’clock.我睡到十點。

I didn’t go to bed till/until ten o’clock.直到十點我才睡覺。

7.by，before

（1）by意為“到……以前”、“不遲于”、“到……時（為止）”。

I will finish my task by nine.我將在九點鐘前完成任務(wù)。

The plane takes off at 10：00，so you must try to be at the airport by 9：30.

飛機在十點鐘起飛，所以你必須在九點半趕到機場。

（2）before意為“在……以前”。

The students won’t go home before they finish their homework.

學(xué)生們要先完成作業(yè)才能回家。

The woman worked in the factory before 1990.

1990年以前這位婦女在這家工廠上班。
