二、形容詞作定語時的位置

1.形容詞作定語一般要前置

I bought an interesting book yesterday.我昨天買了一本有趣的書。

She has got a used car.她有一輛二手車。

2.形容詞作定語修飾復(fù)合不定代詞時要后置

Let’s go and see if we can find something particular.

走吧，看看我們能否找到什么特別的東西。

Is there anything important in the article？ 這篇文章里有什么重要的內(nèi)容嗎？

There is nothing difficult in the lesson.這節(jié)課里沒有很難的內(nèi)容。

Someone important will give the students a lecture.一位重要人物將給學(xué)生做報(bào)告。

This mysterious something is known as radium.這種神秘的東西是鐳。

【提示】 修飾something時也可以前置。

3.形容詞短語作定語要后置

I think he is a man suitable for the job.我認(rèn)為他是適合做這項(xiàng)工作的人。

The basket full of fruits belongs to the beautiful girl.

裝滿水果的這個籃子是這個漂亮女孩的。

We need a place twice larger than this one.我們需要一個比這里大一倍的地方。

They produced gases almost as harmful as those from the factories.

他們排出的廢氣幾乎和工廠排出的廢氣一樣有害。

4.成對的形容詞作定語要后置

There was a huge cupboard，simple and beautiful.有一個大食櫥，簡樸而美觀。

She has many pencils，blue and red.她有許多鉛筆，有藍(lán)的、紅的。

People in the village，young and old，went to see the film yesterday evening.

這個村子里的人，老的、少的，昨天晚上都去看了這場電影。

Power stations，large and small，have been set up all over the country.

大大小小的發(fā)電站已經(jīng)在全國各地建立起來。

5.表語形容詞作定語要后置

Do you know the man asleep？ 你認(rèn)識睡覺的那個人嗎？

He must be the best violinist alive.他一定是當(dāng)代最好的小提琴手了。

6.以-able，-ible結(jié)尾的形容詞作定語時要后置

This is the best way available.這是現(xiàn)有的最好方法。

That is the only solution possible.那是唯一可行的解決辦法。
