表示數(shù)目多少或先后順序的詞被稱為數(shù)詞。數(shù)詞有基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞兩種。數(shù)詞在句子中可作主語、賓語、表語、定語和同位語等成分。

（1）1—12的基數(shù)詞為獨立的單詞，13—19的基數(shù)詞都以后綴-teen結(jié)尾，但13 thirteen，15 fifteen，18 eighteen與其他結(jié)構(gòu)有差別，拼寫時要特別留意。

（2）20—90之間的整十位數(shù)詞均以后綴-ty結(jié)尾，但20 twenty，30 thirty，40 forty，50 fifty，80 eighty與其他結(jié)構(gòu)有區(qū)別，拼寫時要注意。

（3）“幾十幾”的基數(shù)詞是由整十位數(shù)加個位數(shù)合成，且兩者之間要用連字符“-”連接。如21 twenty-one，38 thirty-eight，55 fifty-five，97 ninety-seven，76 seventy-six等。

（4）100以上的基數(shù)詞在拼寫和拼讀時要在百位數(shù)和十位數(shù)之間加and，如果十位數(shù)為零，則百位數(shù)和個位數(shù)之間加and。如：230 two hundred and thirty；502 five hundred and two；621 six hundred and twenty-one；999 nine hundred and ninety-nine等。

巧記100以內(nèi)的基數(shù)詞

基數(shù)詞，不難記，找出規(guī)律很容易；

一至十二詞各異，需要大家逐個記；

后加teen表十幾，thirteen，fifteen看仔細；

18提醒要注意，eighteen只有一個t；

后加ty整幾十，twenty，eighty重點記；

forty沒有字母u，thirty，fifty像十幾；

二十以后加個位，表示數(shù)字幾十幾；

數(shù)字順排雖容易，連字符號“-”莫丟棄；

遇到幾百幾十幾，and把百與十系（ji）；

巧學妙記加努力，hundred是你好成績。

（5）1000以上的數(shù)字，從后往前，每三位數(shù)有一個半空碼或逗號分隔，第一個三位數(shù)空碼或逗號為“千”thousand，第二個三位數(shù)半空碼或逗號為“百萬”million，第三個三位數(shù)半空碼或逗號為“十億”billion。如：4，860讀作four thousand eight hundred and sixty（四千八百六十）；5，632，867讀作five million six hundred and thirty-two thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven（五百六十三萬兩千八百六十七）；1，390，000，000讀作one billion three hundred and ninety million（十三億九千萬）等。

（6）英語中沒有“萬”和“億”這兩個詞。“幾十千”表示“幾萬”；“幾百個千”表示“幾十萬”；“幾百個百萬”表示“幾億”。如：12，256讀作twelve thousand two hundred and fifty-six（一萬兩千二百五十六）；245，631讀作two hundred and forty-five thousand six hundred and thirty-one（二十四萬五千六百三十一）。380，000，000讀作three hundred and eighty million（三十八億）。

注意：

①hundred（百），thousand（千），million（百萬），billion（十億）與基數(shù)詞連用時，hundred，thousand，million，billion用單數(shù)形式，不可用復數(shù)。如：two hundred二百；three thousand三千；six million六百萬等；

②hundred，thousand，million，billion后與of連用表示約數(shù)時，hundred，thousand，million，billion需用復數(shù)。如：hundreds of people數(shù)百人；thousands of trees成千上萬棵樹；millions of books數(shù)百萬本書。

③hundred，thousand，million，billion等詞其前用了基數(shù)詞，其后不能再與of短語連用。
