David：Do you know any foreign experts here in China? 你認(rèn)識在中國工作的外國專家嗎？

You：No, language is a real barrier between Chinese and foreign experts. As more and more people learn English, however, foreign experts can share their knowledge more easily. 不認(rèn)識。語言是中國人和外國專家之間的一個(gè)障礙。但是隨著越來越多的人學(xué)習(xí)英語，專家們就能很輕松地發(fā)揮他們的作用了。

David：I agree. The language barrier is a roadblock to potential cooperation between foreigners and Chinese. I feel that since many foreign experts came to China to work, they may have not studied Chinese before. They only know English so they might be isolated from the real China. 我同意，語言障礙妨礙了中外進(jìn)一步合作。我覺得很多外國專家來中國工作以前，可能根本沒有學(xué)過中文，他們只會講英語，所以可能很難真正了解中國。

You：Right, it’s isolating. So, how can people break through this isolation and start getting through to each other? This is an urgent topic to put in front of people. 對，這是一種孤立。那么人們?nèi)绾尾拍艽蚱七@種孤立局面，開始和對方溝通呢？這是人們面臨的一個(gè)緊迫問題。

David：的確是這樣。

You：Now English has gone global. It is not limited to people in England or the United States. In more and more countries people are using English. So maybe this is how to do it. 現(xiàn)在英語正在成為世界語言。它的使用者不再僅僅局限于英國人和美國人。越來越多國家的人開始使用英語。所以可能這就是解決之道。

David：There are two solutions: encourage foreigners to study Chinese and encourage Chinese to study English! 有兩種方法：鼓勵外國人學(xué)中文和鼓勵中國人學(xué)英語。
