[00:16]He grew up doing what prairie chickens do— [00:19]scratching at the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. [00:25]It was a dreary life. [00:28]Gradually the eagle grew older and bitter. [00:32]One day he and his prairie chicken friend saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of air, [00:37]high above the mountains. [00:39]“Oh, I wish I could fly like that!” said the eagle. [00:41]The chicken replied, “Don’t give it another thought. [00:44]That’s the mighty eagle, the king of all birds—you could never be like him!” [00:49]And the eagle didn’t give it another thought. [00:51]He went on cackling and complaining about life. [00:55]He died thinking he was a prairie chicken. [00:57]My friends, you too were born an eagle. [01:01]The Creator intended you to be an eagle, [01:03]so don’t listen to the prairie chickens!
