[00:09]Struggle [00:11] [00:14]A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. [00:17]He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole at the end. [00:24] [00:25]Eventually, the butterfly stopped making progress. [00:30]It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. [00:35]The man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. [00:43]The butterfly then emerged easily, but it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. [00:50] [00:51]The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, [00:57]the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. [01:04] [01:05]Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. [01:14]It never was able to fly. [01:16] [01:18]What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that [01:22]the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening [01:27]were nature's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings [01:34]so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. [01:38] [01:40]Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. [01:44]If nature allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. [01:50]We would not be as strong as what we could have been. [01:53]And we could never
