The Pig

It was an evening in November,

As I very well remember,

I was ¹⁾strolling down the street in ²⁾drunken pride,

But my knees were all ³⁾aflutter,

And I landed in the ⁴⁾gutter

And a pig came up and lay down by my side.

Yes, I lay there in the gutter

Thinking thoughts I could not utter,

When a colleen passing by did softly say,

"You can tell a man who ⁵⁾boozes

By the ⁶⁾company he chooses.”

And the pig got up and slowly walked away.

那個十一月之夜，

叫我沒齒難忘，

醺然醉步流連在街頭，

可膝蓋晃晃悠悠，

我便扎進了水溝，

一頭豬走近來趴在身旁。

對，我躺在水溝里

思潮奔涌卻苦無一言，

一名少女走過，殷然細語：

“區(qū)分人品好壞，

莫過于看他擇誰與伴”

豬遂起，緩身棄然而去。
