雅思閱讀難句之插入語結構

插人語也是IELTS閱讀中常出現(xiàn)的一種結構。它一般是對句子中一個句子成分的解釋或補充說明，通常是不重要的內容。

插入語的標志

(1)插人語結構前后用逗號斷開.如:The book, I think, doesn't provide information

about the population in that area.其中.插入語結構I think便是這種特點。

(2)插人語結構前后用破折號斷開，如:The paper said the volcano destroyed most-if not

all-of the buildings and construction on the island。其中，插入if not all就屬于此類結構。

對付插人語的辦法是先略去不讀。插人語常常插在主語和謂語之間.也可以插在句子中其他兩個句子成分之間。有的插人語比較長，如果對插人語特別注意，會造成原來句子主要意思的中斷，造成理解困難。而插人語常常是不重要的內容，所以應先略去不讀.這樣被分隔的兩個句子成分就接上了。

下面就看幾個關于插入語的例子

中文：在相互依賴的關系中.例如，勞資關系或在一個家庭或一個組織中，誰更有力量的問題就轉換成誰更少依賴于另一方。

英文：In relationships of mutual dependence, such as between labor and management or within an organization or a family, the question of who is more powerful turns on who is less dependent on the other.

結構分析：such as between labor and management or within an organization or a family是插人語，同時也是舉例說明，是不重要的內容.可以先略去不讀。全句的謂語是turns on, the question of who is more powerful是主語.賓語從句who is less dependent on the other是turns on的賓語。

中文：在發(fā)展中國家，在那里，至少有16個城市在近10年之末人口會超過1200萬，不優(yōu)先考慮公共交通是災難性的。

英文：In developing countries, where at least 16 cities are expected to have more than 12 million people each by the end of this decade, failing to give priority to public transport would be disastrous.

結構分析：where at least 16 cities are expected to have more than 12 million people each by the end of this decade是插人語，是一個定語從句，修飾developing countries。全句主語是動名詞短語failing to give priority to public transport.
