課文中的句子“Wow, your roommates are cleaning the room”中出現(xiàn)的語法現(xiàn)象是現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)。現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)由be的現(xiàn)在式（am/ is/ are）+動(dòng)詞現(xiàn)在分詞構(gòu)成，表示動(dòng)作正在進(jìn)行，同時(shí)也表示動(dòng)作的持續(xù)性。
（1）表示此刻正在進(jìn)行或發(fā)生的動(dòng)作
可以與時(shí)間狀語now, at the moment等連用，也可不用時(shí)間狀語，如：
He is writing a love letter to his wife now. 他正在給妻子寫情書。
The workers are building a new swimming pool. 工人們正在建一個(gè)新的游泳池。
（2）表示按計(jì)劃、安排和打算將要發(fā)生的動(dòng)作
常有表示將來的時(shí)間狀語，常見的能表示此意義的動(dòng)詞有：arrive, borrow, come, discuss, fly, give, go, join, leave, move, play, run, sail, set out, start, stay, stop, take off, wear, work等。
The athletes are arriving in Beijing tomorrow. 運(yùn)動(dòng)員于明早到達(dá)北京。
Aunt Shirley is returning this evening. 雪莉阿姨今晚將回來。
（3）表示不斷重復(fù)的動(dòng)作
常和always, forever, repeatedly 等頻度副詞連用。
May is always helping others. 阿美經(jīng)常幫助別人。
They are seeking after truth forever. 他們永遠(yuǎn)追求真理。
