要有吸引力，這是乖巧謙恭的魔力。令人快樂的性格就像磁鐵，用其獲得幫助是不夠的，還要用其吸引善意，且廣泛運(yùn)用。只有美德是不夠的，除非有魅力支撐--只有魅力才能讓大眾接受你，而且它還是駕馭別人最實用的方法。受人歡迎要靠運(yùn)氣，但也可以運(yùn)用技巧獲得。在受大自然眷顧的土地上，人工所造之物最容易扎根。在那里，人們的善意可以生長，發(fā)展成普遍的愛戴。
