The fast-food chain announced Monday that they are expanding their plant-based offerings to include an Impossible Whopper Jr., as well as Impossible versions of their value meal and kids meal sandwiches, making Burger King the first fast-food chain to feature plant-based meats on their kids menu.

This summer, the company debuted the Impossible Whopper at 7,000 restaurants across the US, becoming “one of the most successful product launches in brand history,” Burger King wrote in a recent press release. The new burger helped boost their sales by 5 percent in the last quarter, according to a Restaurant Brands International (QSR) report.

Despite the call to drive down the price of plant-based meat alternatives, experts warn that the cost to your health is just as important. Last month, Dr. Sean Heffron, a cardiologist at NYU Langone, told The Post that he considered Impossible and conventional burgers on par in terms of nutrition.
