來見識這條綠色的小狗

A dog owner in Germany was surprised to see one of her Golden Retriever’s nine puppies wasn’t so golden. In fact, it was a strange shade of green.

德國一位狗主人驚訝地發(fā)現(xiàn)，她養(yǎng)的一只金毛獵犬的9只幼犬并沒有那么金黃。事實上，它是一種奇怪的綠色。

The mint green puppy was born last week – just in time for Halloween – in the north German town of Wermelskirchen at the home of dog owner Joanna Justice, German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) reports.

據(jù)德國新聞社(DPA)報道，這只薄荷綠的小狗于上周在德國北部小鎮(zhèn)Wermelskirchen的主人喬安娜·賈斯特家中出生，當時正是萬圣節(jié)前夕。這只小狗的主人是喬安娜·賈斯蒂(joanna justice)。

Justice was concerned about the color at first, however, she quickly realized the puppy was otherwise healthy, as were the eight other siblings.

賈斯特一開始很在意這只小狗的顏色，但是她很快意識到這只小狗和其他8個兄弟姐妹一樣都很健康。

She aptly named the puppy “Mojito,” inspired by the mint and lime-infused white rum cocktail.

她給這只小狗起了個貼切的名字:“莫吉托”，靈感來自于薄荷和檸檬混合的白朗姆酒雞尾酒。

Fear not though, young Mojito won’t stay this faint shade of green for too long. Christian Dimitriadis, a veterinarian in Düsseldorf, told DPA that the color will eventually fade and grow out of the pup’s hair. After a few days or weeks of licking from its mother, Mojito will be bright white, just like the rest of the litter.

不過別怕，年輕的莫吉托不會在這淡淡的綠色里待太久的。杜塞爾多夫的獸醫(yī)Christian Dimitriadis告訴DPA，狗毛的顏色最終會褪去，并從狗的毛發(fā)中生長出來。經(jīng)過幾天或幾周的舔食，莫吉托就會變成白色，和其他幼崽一樣。

While extremely rare, green puppies are not as uncommon as you might think. In fact, over in the US this week, a green “shamrock-colored” Great Dane puppy was born too. She's been named "Verdant," and is healthy, her owners have confirmed.
