The chicken-stuffed deep-fried ‘Pizzadilla’ is a monstrosity

It starts with a mixture of ground cumin, mustard powder, oil and brown sugar — and becomes a horrifying deep-fried pizza stuffed with barbecue chicken and cheese.

Meet the “Pizzadilla” — a recently released recipe on British food news and recipe site Twisted Food that’s since gone viral online for all the wrong reasons.

In a lengthy, step-by-step video, viewers are taken through a ridiculously detailed cooking process that includes marinating six chicken breasts, chopping and re-marinating them after baking for an hour, then topping them with layers of cheese and tortillas.

While that Frankenstein-like mixture chills for an hour, viewers are instructed to make ranch dressing for dipping.

After the hour passes, the tortilla layers are sliced, coated in flour, doused in six whisked eggs, lined with breadcrumbs and deep-fried in oil.

The final touch? Adding pizza sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni, then putting it in the oven for five minutes for it to reach its crispy, fried climax of disgusting ingredients that should never go together.

“Okay but I just wanna know WHY?????” says Twitter user @khaltkom in a tweet showing the multi-step video, which earned more than 4,000 retweets and 18,000 likes.

“What are they trying to prove with this abomination?” replied one user.

“I almost threw up about 18 times while watching this,” said another.

According to the Guardian’s calculations, the disgusting dish totals at least 7,275 calories — more than three times the recommended daily caloric intake. But that doesn’t include the calories from deep-frying, which would add roughly 1,000 calories of oil absorbed by the breadcrumbs.

The Guardian adds that Shay Spence, the food editor of People magazine, spent some six hours making this monstrosity.

Later, he described it as “truly one of the most vile things I’ve ever eaten.”
