日本娛樂(lè)大亨喜多川(Johnny Kitagawa)去世，享年87歲

Johnny Kitagawa, who produced famous boybands including Arashi and SMAP and was a kingpin of Japan's entertainment industry for more than half a century, has died. He was 87.

曾制作過(guò)《荒石》(Arashi)和《SMAP》等著名偶像男團(tuán)的johnny喜多川(Johnny Kitagawa)去世了，半個(gè)多世紀(jì)以來(lái)他一直是日本娛樂(lè)業(yè)的領(lǐng)軍人物，享年87歲。

His office, Johnny & Associates, says Kitagawa died from a subarachnoid hemorrhage Tuesday at a Tokyo hospital, where he had been treated after falling unconscious June 18.

Born in Los Angeles, Kitagawa spent his early childhood in Japan before and during World War II, and later grew up in the U.S. before returning to Japan after the Korean War.

喜多川出生于洛杉磯，在二戰(zhàn)前和二戰(zhàn)期間在日本度過(guò)了童年，后來(lái)在美國(guó)長(zhǎng)大，朝鮮戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)后回到日本。

Kitagawa established his office in 1962, spearheading Japan's entertainment scene and sending many artists to fame.

He called the artists and trainees his "children," and was affectionately known as Johnny-san, though he hardly appeared in public.
