2016年12月大學(xué)英語(yǔ)六級(jí)翻譯練習(xí)：西部大開(kāi)發(fā)

　　“西部大開(kāi)發(fā)”(Western Development)是中國(guó)促進(jìn)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的一項(xiàng)重要政策。自從實(shí)行改革開(kāi)放的政策以來(lái),尤其是中國(guó)東南沿海城市的經(jīng)濟(jì)特區(qū)(special economic zone)設(shè)立以來(lái)，中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展迅速。然而，由于位置偏遠(yuǎn)、交通落后、與其他地區(qū)交流不足，中國(guó)西部地區(qū)在經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化、人民生活水平等方面不夠發(fā)達(dá)。為了解決地區(qū)間發(fā)展的不平衡，中國(guó)開(kāi)展了“西部大開(kāi)發(fā)”運(yùn)動(dòng)，在引進(jìn)人才和投資等方面給予西部地區(qū)優(yōu)惠 (preferential)政策。目前“西部大開(kāi)發(fā)"的成就顯著，東西部地區(qū)的差距正逐漸縮小。

SinceChina adopted the reform and opening-up policy,and especially since the special economic zones wereset up in the coastal cities in southeast China, theChinese economy has grown rapidly. However, owing to its remote location, backwardtransportation, and insufficient exchange with other regions, western China is lessdeveloped in its economy, culture and people's living standard. In order to tackle theimbalanced development among regions, China has launched the campaign of WesternDevelopment, offering preferential policies to the west in many aspects such as introduction oftalents and investment. Now the campaign of Western Development has made remarkableachievements, gradually narrowing the gap between the east and the west.

　　1.第一句中的定語(yǔ)“促進(jìn)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的”較長(zhǎng)，故將其處理為后置定語(yǔ)修飾“重要政策”，翻譯時(shí)，可譯為現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ)從句，此外“促進(jìn)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展”是該項(xiàng)政策的目的因此宜增譯短語(yǔ)aim at，譯作aiming at promoting economicdevelopment 或 which aims at…。

　　2.第二句“自從…以來(lái)，尤其是…”為并列的兩個(gè)分句，因此可考慮將其翻譯為兩個(gè)由since引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句 SinceChina adopted..., and especially since the special economic zones were...，注意 since引導(dǎo)的從句要用一般過(guò)去時(shí)，主句使用現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)。

　　3.翻譯第三句的“由于…中國(guó)西部地區(qū)…”時(shí)，可使用owing to...結(jié)構(gòu)表達(dá)“由于…”，而“位置偏遠(yuǎn)、交通落后、與其他地區(qū)交流不足”為三個(gè)并列的原因，可用并列結(jié)構(gòu)進(jìn)行直譯。“在…方面不夠發(fā)達(dá)”可譯作 be lessdeveloped in…。

　　4.倒數(shù)第二句的“為了解決地區(qū)間發(fā)展的不平衡”表目的，故將其譯作目的狀語(yǔ)in order to...。后兩個(gè)分句可直譯為and連接的并列句，但這樣處理句子結(jié)構(gòu)松散，稍顯平淡，不如選“中國(guó)開(kāi)展了…運(yùn)動(dòng)”作為主句，將“在引進(jìn)人才和投資等方面給予…”處理為現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)offering preferential policies...來(lái)得地道和有層次感。
