Winter Solstice is the day with the shortest daytime and the longest nighttime,marking the beginning of the coldest time of the year. After Winter Solstice,as the temperature gets colder,people's outdoor activities gradually decrease.Without much work in the field,farmers are mainly busy with the maintenance of the irrigation system and the protection of crops from freezing as well as the preparation for planting in the coming spring.
