　　風(fēng)箏

　　古時在中國風(fēng)箏也稱作“鳶(hawk ) ”。春秋戰(zhàn)國時期(theSpring and Autumn Period ),東周哲人墨子(Mo-tse)曾“費時三年，以木制木鳶，飛升天空”，但這只木鳶只飛了一天就壞了。墨子制造的這只“木鳶”就是世上最早的風(fēng)箏， 已有2400多年的歷史。唐代時，風(fēng)箏傳入朝鮮、日本及其他周邊國家。十三世紀(jì)末，風(fēng)箏的故事首次被意大利探險家馬可·波羅帶到歐洲，至此，中國風(fēng)箏便逐漸開始傳到世界各地。

　　In ancient time, kites were also called “Yuan (ahawk)” in China. In the Spring and Autumn Period,Mo-tse, a philosopher in the Eastern Zhou Dynastyspent three years making a wooden glede that couldfly in the sky, but it broke down only in one day. That wooden glede Mo-tse made has a historyof over two thousand and four hundred years, which was claimed to be the first kite in theworld. In Tang Dynasty, kites were introduced to Korea, Japan and other surrounding countries.Stories of kites were first brought to Europe by Marco Polo, an Italian adventurer, towards theend of the 13th century. Since then, the Chinese kite was gradually introduced to the wholeworld.

　　1.鳶:鳶指老鷹。根據(jù)短文表達(dá)語義，翻譯時“鳶”也可以漢語拼音為譯文, 即:yuan。

　　2.費時三年，以木制木鳶，飛升天空:三個短句的語義比較簡單，但都缺少主語，且主語有所不同，翻譯時需增補(bǔ)其主語以保證句子成分完整，即“(墨子)費時三年，以木制木鳶，(風(fēng)箏)飛升天空”。同時，按照英語語言結(jié)構(gòu)特點把零散的短句翻譯成有邏輯關(guān)系的從句。

　　3.周邊國家:可譯為neighboring countries 或者surrounding countries。

　　4.探險家馬可·波羅:探險家可譯為explorer或者adventurer;注意類似馬可·波羅等人名平時要多加積累，防止寫錯。
