英語四級翻譯練習(xí)：支付寶

支付寶(Alipay)是中國最大的第三方在線支付平臺，由阿里巴巴集團(Alibaba Group)于2004年創(chuàng)建。截至2012年底,支付寶擁有用戶超過7億。用戶可利用這一平臺支付各種費用，諸如網(wǎng)購、電話費、學(xué)費等等。以網(wǎng)購為例，買家先將錢存到支付寶賬戶，收到商品后，再通過支付寶將錢轉(zhuǎn)給賣家。支付寶為其用戶提供了“簡單、安全、快速”的在線支付方式，保護了買賣雙方的利益。

Founded by Alibaba Group in 2004, Alipay is China's largest third-party online payment platform. Alipay has over 700 million users by the end of 2012. Users can pay various bills via the platform, such as online shopping, telephone bills, and tuition fees. Take online shopping as an example. Buyers put the money into their Alipay account which will not release the money to the sellers until the buyers get their goods. Alipay provides its users with a simple, safe and fast online payment method, protecting the interests of both buyers and sellers.

1.第1句如果用并列結(jié)構(gòu)逐字對譯為Alipay is China's largest... and was founded by...則因時間邏輯關(guān)系(應(yīng)先創(chuàng)建才能成為最大)而不符合英語表達習(xí)慣，故可將“由阿里巴巴集團于2004年創(chuàng)建”處理為狀語，譯為Founded by Alibaba Group in 2004，置于句首。

2.第3句中的“用戶可利用這一平臺支付各種費用”如直譯為users can use this platform to pay all kinds of bills則顯生硬，翻譯時可用介詞via來表達“利用”，譯作users can pay various bills via the platform,使句子結(jié)構(gòu)簡潔明了。

3.第4句中的“以網(wǎng)購為例”意思獨立完整，可單獨譯成一個句子Take online shopping as an example。

4.第4句中的后三個分句有三個動作“存錢”、“收貨”和“轉(zhuǎn)錢”，如果按照原結(jié)構(gòu)翻譯成英文，譯文會比較繁冗平淡，故可考慮對句型結(jié)構(gòu)進行重新整合，將“買家先將錢存到支付寶賬戶”作為句子的主句，而“轉(zhuǎn)錢”這一動作的執(zhí)行者可看作是“賬戶”，故后兩句處理為which引導(dǎo)的定語從句，“收貨”和“轉(zhuǎn)錢”的先后關(guān)系可用 not... until 來表示。本句也可譯為 Buyers do not transfer their money, which is put into Alipay accounts in advance, to the sellers until they get their goods。

5.在最后一句中，“為其用戶提供了”可套用providesb. with sth.的結(jié)構(gòu);“保護了買賣雙方的利益”可處理成表結(jié)果的狀語，用分詞短語protecting the interests of both buyers and sellers 來表達。
