　　1. The higher you climb the ladder, the more you get into administrative or executive work, the greater the emphasis on ability to work within the organization rather than on technical abilities or professional knowledge. (1990. 6. 閱讀. Text 3)

　　【譯文】你的職位越高，所從事的行政工作就越多，也就是越重視在組織中的工作能力而非技術(shù)能力或?qū)I(yè)知識。

　　【析句】整句話應(yīng)用了the+比較句，the+比較句的句型，只不過是三個the+比較級的句子形成排比，句與句之間根據(jù)一定的邏輯順序排列。The higher you climb the ladder是條件，后面兩句是結(jié)果，且后一句比前一句更深入。注意最后一句的主干是the emphasis on...rather than on...。

　　3. The ease, for example, with which people can change from working in the day to working at night is a question of growing importance in industry where automation calls for round-the-clock working of machines. (1990. 6. 閱讀. Text 4)

　　【譯文】例如，由于工業(yè)自動化要求機器晝夜運轉(zhuǎn)，人們能否輕松地把白天工作改成晚上工作就成為工業(yè)生產(chǎn)中日益重要地問題了。

　　【析句】復合句。主句是The ease is question of growing importance in industry,the ease后是定語從句with which people can change from...to...，先行詞the ease在定語從句中作with的賓語;而industry后也有where引導的定語從句。
