　　 讀者可能想不到August（八月），auction（拍賣）和author（作者）居然是同根詞吧！它們分別來(lái)自拉丁動(dòng)詞aguere、它的過去分詞auctus及其變體auth，其基本意思都是to increase（增加）或to cause to grow（使產(chǎn)生，使增大）。
