托福作文里面經(jīng)常遇到的話題:parents should offer their school- age children money for each high score they get.

注意?:不是只有study hard 才能表達(dá)努力學(xué)習(xí)哦,還有這些詞可以用:spare no effore to do sth; endeavor to do sth; be diligent in doing sth; be devoted to do sth; be dedicated to do sth

  那么,他們會(huì)用金錢去衡量重要的東西,現(xiàn)在是分?jǐn)?shù),以后可能就是其他重要的東西,如health, friendship, love, work, etc.

  2. 每一個(gè)高分都得獎(jiǎng)勵(lì),這在無形中(consciously or unconsciously) 會(huì)告訴孩子高分至上,不惜一切代價(jià)求高分,那么培養(yǎng)出來的孩子可能就是(expert in achieving high score, but short in conprehensive abilities)

  下面我們一起欣賞一篇范文:

Recent decades have witnessed parents' ever-burgeoning attachment to their children's academic grade because it is closely related to their academic performance and the entrance of good schools. As a result, some parents, aiming to further motivate their kids to study harder, reward their kids with money if they obtain high grade. I, contrary to their behavior, strongly reckon that by no means should the money-driven approach to children's high score be considered as a wise strategy.

  (邏輯,插入語,倒裝句)

To begin with, never can we deny the fact that this reward , consciously or unconsciously, will instill students an undesirable perspective that money is dominating in their life, and all their endeavor is to pursue money. That is because their parents are doing the same thing: grade is so significant that parents honor their high score with money. This behavior tells those children money can be used to trade important things; apart from high score, other vital things like health, love, and friendship can also be traded with money. Not only will this material-oriented value become their primary motivation for study diligently, but also it will ruin their moral value, which may influence negatively in their later career. The case of my cousin Sam is a good example. When he was in high school, his parents offer him a large amount of money as a reward when he got high score. As a result, in oder to acquire more money, he studied harder and harder, which really helped him got a high score during the college entrance exam. Things, however, went differently when he graduated from university. He worked in a good engineering company, but when his boss refused to offer him money as reward for every project, he even lost his motivation for work: he just sat in his office and waited for monthly salary. As a result, never did he get any promotion in his career. As is seen from above, money is not the exclusive means to measure one's effort and achievement; never should parents utilizes it as a reward for children's high score for the sake of right moral value cultivation.

Apart from the disastrous influence on moral value, money will also contribute to unexpected result in the nurturing of their comprehensive ability. Indeed, since children will be honored if they are rewarded with money, they will spare no effort to get a high score. This will definitely result in the fact that children grasp every available minute to study: they refuse to take part in any sports activities due to the occupation of their extra time; not involved in friends parties; abandoning music classes. This contributes to the fact that they are only expert in getting high score, but poor in health, communication, and other skills. This kind of talent will confront a host of difficulties in their upcoming study or career. Therefore, I recommend that parents should no attach too much attachment to children’ s high score and should not reward them with money for high score.

Admittedly, some parents may argue that the rewarded money will cultivate kids ability to manage finance, and they will know how to spend and invest wisely. However, money management ability can be fostered through other approach. For example, parents give them right to manage their own red pocket money instead of taking it away from them. What does it mean when parents take charge of children's belongings on one hand and offer them money for high score on the other hand? Compared with the likelihood of forming material-oriented value, this method is not sagacious.

In conclusion, for the risk of nurturing material value and the score-oriented talents, I suggest that parents should use money as a reward; instead, they should seek other approach to honor children's high score.
