2016考研英語(yǔ)：破解“同位語(yǔ)”

　　從內(nèi)容本質(zhì)上來(lái)說(shuō)，同位語(yǔ)，顧名思義，指的是一個(gè)句子成分與另一個(gè)句子成分在句中的地位等同。從同位語(yǔ)的形式上來(lái)說(shuō)，一個(gè)名詞或其它形式(我們稱(chēng)之為A)， 跟在另一個(gè)名詞或代詞(我們稱(chēng)之為B)后并對(duì)其進(jìn)行解釋、說(shuō)明或限定，A就是B的同位語(yǔ)。需要注意的是，同位語(yǔ)與被它說(shuō)明的先行詞的格要一致，并且前后兩項(xiàng)所指相同，句法功能也相同。

　　同位關(guān)系緊密時(shí)不用逗點(diǎn)隔開(kāi);同位語(yǔ)只作補(bǔ)充解釋時(shí)可用逗點(diǎn)隔開(kāi)。如：

　　His brother John was a world-famous doctor.

　　John是主語(yǔ)his brother的同位語(yǔ)，指同一人。

　　Mr. Smith,our new teacher, is very kind to us.

　　our new teacher是主語(yǔ)Mr.Smith的同位語(yǔ)，指同一人。

　　During the discussion of rock singing verses at last month’s stockholders meeting, Levin asserted that “music is not the cause of society’s ills” and even cited his son, a teacher in the Bronx, New York, who uses rap to communicate with students.

　　a teacher in the Bronx, New York是his son的同位語(yǔ)，指同一人。

　　此外，同位語(yǔ)除表示其同位成分的全部意義外，還可以表示部分意義。如：

　　He is interested in sports,especially ball games.

　　ball games是sports的同位語(yǔ)，是sports的一部分。

　　They gathered all the data they can, not just performance statistics and biographical details but also the results of their own laboratory experiments with high achievers.

　　not just performance statistics and biographical details but also the results of their own laboratory experiments with high achievers是data的同位語(yǔ)，是data的一部分。

　　除了名詞作同位語(yǔ)外，名詞性從句也可以作同位語(yǔ)。如：

　　The question how we try out the top player will be discussed next week.

　　how we try out the top player是the question的同位語(yǔ)，為同一事物。

　　以上是同位語(yǔ)出現(xiàn)的幾種形式，下面我們來(lái)看一下如何翻譯句中的同位語(yǔ)成分，翻譯的關(guān)鍵在于要能夠挑明先行詞與同位語(yǔ)的關(guān)系。如果同位語(yǔ)比較短我們可以直接將同位語(yǔ)翻譯出來(lái)修飾說(shuō)明先行詞。如Mr. Smith,our new teacher,is very kind to us.譯為我們的新老師史密斯先生對(duì)我們很好。如果同位語(yǔ)比較長(zhǎng)，就需要通過(guò)加標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào)(包括逗號(hào)、冒號(hào)、破折號(hào))或是表示解釋說(shuō)明的漢語(yǔ)文字(如這、那、該、即、如下)來(lái)表明先行詞與其同位語(yǔ)的關(guān)系。如：The question how we try out the top player will be discussed next week. 譯為如何選拔運(yùn)動(dòng)員。
