[00:13.35] On the stage the performers are shuffling their music [00:16.85]and tuning their instruments as they prepare for the performance. [00:20.35]The conductor enters, takes a bow, and all is silent. [00:24.61]He raises his baton and the symphony begins to play. [00:28.66]All of the instruments have different sounds, [00:31.17]and the parts they play blend and harmonize with one another. [00:35.22] The music would not be as exciting if every part were the same. [00:39.92]The symphony is a symbol for life, especially in a community. [00:44.84] Diversity and the coming together of each instrument is [00:48.67]what gives the symphony its unique and special sound. [00:52.72]This is also true in life and the world we live in. [00:55.89]Individuals bring in their own input that influences others. [01:00.05]Individuality is an important part of the symphony. [01:03.65]Each player has his or her own part to perform. [01:07.92] These parts can be played on their own [01:10.77] but do not have the same effect [01:12.95]as when they are combined with the other parts of the orchestra. [01:16.45] They blend into a harmonious piece of music. [01:19.84]In other words, [01:21.04]you can hear what each person has to contribute [01:23.56]and how each performer works together. [01:26.19]In life, each person has a talent that they are particularly good at. [01:30.89] When they work together, it accentuates their talent. [01:34.17]A surgeon can be very gifted but is more capable of saving a life [01:38.44] if he has a team of medical personnel assisting him. [01:41.61]When preparing for a concert, [01:43.58]the musicians are reminded by their conductor to stagger their breathing. [01:48.06]They can, of course, breathe [01:49.92]when they need to but they have to try not to breathe [01:52.65]at the same time as the person sitting next to them. [01:55.50]If everyone breathed at the same time, [01:57.91] there would be a noticeable moment of silence in the song. [02:01.08] This is yet another example that can be applied to life. [02:05.12] People have to breathe when they need to breathe [02:07.85]and to do what they want to do. [02:09.71]They have to be an individual and know that [02:12.23] someone will be there to cover for them. [02:14.64]The orchestra continues to play. [02:16.82]It moves together as a group yet separately, [02:20.10] with each person contributing their own part. [02:22.95] Each musician is an active member of the symphony. [02:26.12] We move together in life, [02:28.30]contributing what we have to offer from day to day [02:31.26]as active members in our community. [02:33.77]The orchestra plays their last note and the song is over. [02:38.15] There is a moment of silence [02:39.68]that is broken by the applause of the audience.
