A:  For two years, you put us through hell, Alex! We thought you were dead! Why couldn’t you talk to me about what you’re going through?

兩年了，你讓我們受著地獄般的煎熬，Alex，我們還以為你已經(jīng)死了！為什么不告訴我你都經(jīng)歷了些什么？

B:  I need a new life. We’re not all born into the life we’re supposed to have.

我需要新的生活，不是每個人天生就能過上想要的生活的。

A:  Well, we all got new lives … full of grief and rehab.

是啊，我們倒是都過上新生活了，悲傷透頂，進(jìn)出戒毒所。

B:  I never thought I’d see any of you again! Then Fey died, and I realized I had a chance to get back at dad.

我都沒想過，還能見到你們。后來Fey死了，我意識到我可以報復(fù)爸爸了。

A:  Get back at dad for what? Worshipping you too much?

報復(fù)爸爸干嘛？因為他太崇拜你了？

B:  He wasn’t worshipping!

他才不是崇拜我！

A:  Oh, cp,e pm, Alex. You were the golden child. Dad did everything with you. Boy Scouts, football games …

哦，得了吧，Alex，你是我們家的掌上明珠，爸爸什么事都樂意為你做——參加童子軍，一起玩足球……

B:  Daniel, he figured it out. He hoped tossing a ball around would change things. When I told him I was gonna do this …

Daniel，他發(fā)現(xiàn)了事實。他正是希望通過玩球來改變一切。后來當(dāng)我告訴他，我準(zhǔn)備這么做……

A:  You actually told him?

你真的告訴他了？

B:  He said if I went through with the surgery, I’d lose everything. The company, the money … our family. And then, just to make sure I got the message loud and clear … he said he’d rather I were dead.

他說，要是我做了手術(shù)我就會失去一切。公司，財富，甚至于家庭…… 為了確保我明確了解他的意思…… 他說，與其如此，我還不如死了算了。

A:  Why didn’t you tell me?

你為什么不告訴我？

B:  Because you’re just like dad. I didn’t want to be rejected twice. This isn’t nearly as fun as it used to be.

因為你跟爸爸一摸一樣啊，我可不想被拒絕兩次。這已經(jīng)不像以前那么好玩了。
