A: Oh, I wish I could be famous!

B:Maybe you could become famous for another reason, besides acting. What: about Eva Perón?
 
除了表演這一行之外，也許在其他方面你也能出名。像伊娃•庇隆那樣怎么樣？
 
A: What about Eva Per6n? Or should I say "Evita", didn't Madonna play her in the movie?
 
伊娃•庇隆嗎？或者我應(yīng)該說是“埃維塔”，是不是電影中麥當(dāng)娜扮演的那個？
 
B:Yes, she did. Evita was an actress, but she became famous for being the First Lady of Argentina. Maybe you could try another approach.

A: We are complete opposites, I mean she grew up very poor with five brothers and sisters,a mother, and no father.

B: Yes, I know your parents are rich and you are an only child. Did you know Eva's mother did not send her to school, but made her work in the kitchens of rich families?

A: Well, I'd never work in a kitchen. She ran away to Buenos Aires when she was 16 to become an actress. Good decision I say.

B: After that, in 1944, Eva met a young army colonel named Juan Perón. They were married in a year and she helped him run for the presidency in 1946. They won.
 
之后．1944年伊娃遇到了年輕的陸軍上校胡安•庇隆。一年后，他們結(jié)了婚。1946年，她幫助他競選總統(tǒng)，最終獲勝。
 
A: Then Eva started her own foundation that built hundreds of schools and hospitals in Argentina. What a wonderful woman!

B: Eva was also an advocate for the education of women.  She also helped the poor workers of Argentina gain a voice and respect in the country that previously exploited them.
 
此外，伊娃倡導(dǎo)婦女教育，還幫助阿根廷窮苦工人在曾經(jīng)剝削他們的國家里爭取到了發(fā)言權(quán)和應(yīng)有的尊重。
 
A: So you are saying that I should marry a politician? Or become a supporter of women's rights?

B: No, not exactly.  I just think you could learn a lot from her.  She was considered by many to be a politician ,  not  an actress.
 
不，不全是這樣。我只是想你能從伊娃身上學(xué)到很多東西。很多人認(rèn)為她是個政治家，而不是演員。
 
A: There had never been a female politician in Argentina before, but people believed in her Hmmm maybe I could do something like that.
 
阿根廷的歷史上從來就沒有女政治家，不過人們就是信任她。嗯……也許我可以那樣做做
 
B: Unfortunately her political career only lasted for 4 years.  In 1950 she was diagnosed with cancer and died in 1952.
 
不幸的是，她的政治生涯只維持了4年。1950年她被查出患有癌癥。1952年去世。
 
B: What we can learn from the story of Evita is that fighting against fate is not impossible.At that time a woman's place was in the home, not behind a desk.
 
我們從埃維塔的故事所能學(xué)到的是，與命運抗?fàn)幉⒉皇遣豢赡艿摹Ｔ诋?dāng)時，婦女的位置足在家里，而不足在辦公室。
 
A: Maybe I could do some volunteer work? I would like to help people. What an inspiring story !
