B: I'm from New Zealand.

A: Oh are you from Auckland?

B: No, I'm from Wellington, the capital city.

A: Oh Wellington is the capital? Is it in the north island or the south island?

B: It's in the bottom of the north island.

A: What's Wellington like?

B: Wellington is a very beautiful city. It's got… the centre is obviously the townshop with a few tall buildings. Then we have the harbour which is very beautiful especially at night time with city lights reflecting on the harbour. And then on the outside we have all the suburbs where everybody lives.
 
惠靈頓是一個(gè)非常美麗的城市。有……市中心有很多高樓大廈。惠靈頓還是一座港口城市，晚上城市的燈光會(huì)倒映在海面上，非常漂亮。而且有許多人住在郊區(qū)。
 
A: How is Wellington different from Auckland or Christchurch?

B: First of all Auckland. Auckland is much bigger: it's the biggest city in New Zealand. And the city itself in the very centre, downtown centre, the buldings are much taller and much more hectic. Traffic is hectic every day, going to work. Wellington is much more calmer. However in Christchurch it is flat, completely flat. Wellington is very hilly, many hills.
 
先說奧克蘭。奧克蘭面積更大，它是新西蘭最大的城市。奧克蘭市中心的高樓更多，也更繁華，每天上班高峰期時(shí)的交通非常繁忙?；蒽`頓則平靜的多。而克賴斯特徹奇地勢平坦?；蒽`頓有很多山地。
 
A: Is it a cheap place to live? Or is it expensive?
 
惠靈頓的生活成本是低廉還是昂貴？
 
B: Reasonably cheap. Compared with Auckland it is much cheaper.
 
相對(duì)低廉。與奧克蘭相比要低廉的多。
 
A: How much do things cost? In New Zealand how much is a bus ride?
 
生活成本是多少？在新西蘭坐公交多少錢？
 
B: Bus ride from home to town would be 1 dollar 50, New Zealand dollars.
 
坐公交從家到城鎮(zhèn)大概需要1.50新西蘭元。
 
A: Ok and how much is a loaf of bread?
 
好，那一塊面包多少錢？
 
B: Loaf of bread, 2 to 3 dollars.
 
一塊大包大約2到3新西蘭元。
 
A: What's the best thing about your city?
 
惠靈頓最棒的是什么？
 
B: Best thing about my city is strangely enough the wind.
 
我們城市最著名的是非常奇怪的風(fēng)。
 
A: The wind?

B: It's known for its wind.

A: How's that a good thing?

B: How's that a good thing? The cool breeze especially in summertime when it gets quite hot, a cool gentle breeze although it can get quite strong.

A: And what's the worst thing about your city?

B: Worst thing about my city would be the trains: they're so inconvenient and they don't cost so much but they're just inconvenient and the buses aren't so good either.
 
最糟糕的應(yīng)該是火車：非常不方便，雖然車費(fèi)不貴，但是乘坐火車很不方便，而且公交車也不是很便利。
 
A: Well it's kind of the same in my country!
