A: So, Mark, I heard that you are going to be leaving Tokyo pretty soon.
 
馬克，我聽(tīng)說(shuō)你很快就要離開(kāi)東京了。
 
B: I am. I'm getting out of the city.
 
對(duì)，我要離開(kāi)這個(gè)城市。
 
A: Ah, man, so when you go back to America are you going to live in a big city like Atlanta or Birmingham?
 
那你回到美國(guó)以后，會(huì)住在亞特蘭大或伯明翰這樣的大城市嗎？
 
B: Well, I from Birmingham, which is a kind of medium sized city, but there's a lot of access to the countryside, cause Birmingham is a medium sized city but Alabama is very rural, so lots of mountains, lots of countryside and I'm actually looking forward to getting into that setting again.
 
我來(lái)自伯明翰，那是個(gè)中型城市，不過(guò)那里有很多鄉(xiāng)村地區(qū)，伯明翰雖然是中型城市，可是阿拉巴馬州充滿了鄉(xiāng)村風(fēng)味，有許多山和許多的鄉(xiāng)村，我很想再次過(guò)那種生活。
 
A: Oh, man. I don't know dude. I grew up on a farm, and I lived way out in the country growing up, and I can't stand the country now.
 
哦，天哪?；镉?jì)，我不知道。我在農(nóng)場(chǎng)上長(zhǎng)大，我在偏遠(yuǎn)的鄉(xiāng)村長(zhǎng)大，所以我現(xiàn)在無(wú)法忍受鄉(xiāng)村生活。
 
B: Really.
 
真的嗎？
 
A: Yeah. I've lived in big cities: San Francisco, London, Bangkok, Tokyo.
 
對(duì)，我一直在大城市生活：舊金山、倫敦、曼谷、東京這樣的城市。
 
B: But don't you miss like the, you know, fresh air, and the views. Don't you just tired of concrete jungles, and buildings and.
 
可是你不會(huì)懷念新鮮的空氣和美景嗎？你不會(huì)厭倦鋼筋水泥和高樓大廈嗎？
 
A: Ah, that's true. I mean, when you're in the country, you have fresh air and you do have, you know, the beauty, and this and that, but it's just boring. It's the same five people.
 
這倒是事實(shí)。我是說(shuō)，生活在鄉(xiāng)村的時(shí)候，可以呼吸到新鮮的空氣，還可以欣賞美景，不過(guò)太無(wú)聊了。而且周圍就只有那么幾個(gè)人。
 
B: It is true, but actually I find it's harder to meet people in a big city, because there is so many people, so you're, nobody really cares to stop and talk to you because there is a million other people around, but if you're in a town, a small town, or out in the country, the few people you do meet, you form a good relationship with.
 
話是沒(méi)錯(cuò)，不過(guò)我發(fā)現(xiàn)在大城市很難結(jié)交朋友，大城市里有許多人，沒(méi)有人會(huì)停下來(lái)與你交談，因?yàn)橹車?百萬(wàn)人，可是如果你生活在小城鎮(zhèn)或是鄉(xiāng)村，你遇到的人很少，所以可以建立良好的關(guān)系。
 
A: Yeah, that's somewhat true, but there's just no energy. You know the countries slow. You can't just go to any restaurant at any time, you can't, you know, go see a museum, or go see a ball game or go to a nightclub and it's a just a lot of sitting around.
 
對(duì)，從某種程度上來(lái)講這是事實(shí)，不過(guò)那種生活沒(méi)有活力。你知道鄉(xiāng)村的生活節(jié)奏很慢。你不能隨時(shí)去餐廳吃飯，沒(méi)有博物館，也不能去現(xiàn)場(chǎng)看球類比賽，或是去夜店，周圍只有田地。
 
B: Well, that's true and, if I do, every time I go back to the country, I always miss those things, like a museum, and you know, concerts and things like that, but I'm just able to relax so much more when I'm out in a rural setting.
 
沒(méi)錯(cuò)，每次我回到鄉(xiāng)村，都不能做這些事情，不能去博物館，不能去看音樂(lè)會(huì)之類的，不過(guò)我在鄉(xiāng)村的時(shí)候會(huì)更放松。
