A: So, Lisa, I see your suitcase out. You are going on a trip?
 
莉莎，我看到你把行李箱拿出來了。你要去旅行嗎？
 
B: I am. I'm going to Taiwan on a business trip.
 
對。我要去臺灣出差。
 
A: A business trip. How do you feel about taking business trips?
 
出差。你怎么看待出差這件事？
 
B: Sometimes I love business. I love getting out of the city for, you know three or four days and staying at a nice hotel and taking a flight somewhere, going to the airport.
 
有的時候我很喜歡出差。我喜歡去這個城市以外的地方走走，時間大概是三四天，入住一家不錯的酒店，去機場坐飛機。
 
A: So you like to travel?
 
你喜歡旅行？
 
B: I love traveling.
 
我非常喜歡旅行。
 
A: You don't mind staying in different hotels and riding on the plane all the time. Don't you get bored?
 
你不介意一直住在不同的酒店，還有一直飛來飛去嗎？你不會感到煩嗎？
 
B: No, I never get bored. I mean, I don't always like going to... I don't always like the whole checking in the airport process because it takes a lot of time and then it's waiting for the plane, et cetera, but as soon as I'm in the plane and the doors close, I love it. No one can contact me. I can't contact anyone else. There are free movies playing and the food comes. It's wonderful.
 
不會，我從來沒有煩的感覺。我不喜歡機場的登機手續(xù)，因為要花很長時間，我也不喜歡候機，不過我喜歡上飛機后、飛機艙門關(guān)閉后的時間。因為沒有人可以聯(lián)系到我，我也不能聯(lián)系其他人。飛機上有免費電影看，而且還提供食物。非常棒。
 
A: So you kind of like the existence of living in a bubble. It's like a mini-vacation.
 
所以你喜歡那種與世隔絕的狀態(tài)。出差就像休短假一樣。
 
B: Yeah. Even though, often I find when I go on business trips it's a lot busier than when I'm not on business trips in terms of my workload. It does feel like a mini-vacation. You stay in a nice hotels. I get to take taxis everywhere, which I love to do. You know, we eat at great restaurants and we're meeting with great people and doing some important things so yeah, I really do love the whole aspect of business trip life.
 
對，不過我發(fā)現(xiàn)我出差時的工作量比平常多不少。出差的確像休短假一樣。我住在一家不錯的酒店里。我會坐出租車去各個地方，我喜歡這樣的生活。我們會在很棒的餐廳吃飯，要和出色的人會面，做一些重要的事情，我真的很喜歡出差的各個方面。
 
A: So what do you do to try to avoid being bored when you're waiting for the plane. You know, when you're waiting to board, when you're sitting on the plane, maybe the movies aren't working or something, what do you do to avoid getting bored?
 
你在候機時，會做什么避免無聊的事情？等待登機的時候，還要登機以后，可能還沒有放電影，那時你會做什么來擺脫無聊呢？
 
B: Well, the first thing I do is I don't get to the airport too early, so I'm a frequent flier. I always use my frequent flier card to earn points and I've earned enough now that I don't have to wait in the economy line even when I fly economy, but I get to wait in the first class or business class line and that makes me very happy. I check in and then I, unfortunately, I normally go to the duty free store and I say unfortunately, cause it's unfortunate for my credit card, not really unfortunately for me. I go to the duty free store. Normally I buy some perfume or cosmetic products cause they always have stuff that you can't get in department stores in the city. I'll go to the business lounge, where there's free drinks and food and if I do get to the airport with a couple of hours I'll go and do some work.
 
首先，我不會太早去機場，我是飛行常客。通常我會用我的常旅客卡換積分，現(xiàn)在我的積分允許我不用在經(jīng)濟艙通道排隊，即使我坐的是經(jīng)濟艙，我也可以在頭等艙通道和商務艙通道排隊，這讓我很高興。辦理登機手續(xù)后，不幸的是通常我會去免稅店，我用不幸這個詞是因為對我的信用卡來說這是件不幸的事，對我來說并不是。我會去免稅店。通常我會買香水和化妝品，因為免稅店里有門店買不到的產(chǎn)品。然后我會去商務艙候機室，那里有免費的飲料和食物，如果我提前幾小時到機場，我會去那里做點工作。
 
A: Do you ever buy souvenirs?

B: I always buy souvenirs for my colleagues when I go to the countries, so when I am in the airport I'll buy them some souvenirs or some food or normally it's food that I'll bring for my colleagues in the office that I'm going to visit.
 
我去其他國家出差時經(jīng)常會給同事買紀念品，我會在機場買紀念品和食物，通常我會買食物給在出差地一起工作的同事。
 
A: And what about brining souvenirs back?
 
那你有帶紀念品回來嗎？
 
B: I used to bring souvenirs back but lately I've been going on a lot of business trips and so the novelty of souvenirs has warn off.
 
我會買紀念品回來，不過最近我經(jīng)常出差，已經(jīng)沒有沒什么新穎的紀念品可買了。
 
A: I see. Sounds like an exciting lifestyle.
 
我明白了。聽起來這是一種激動人心的生活方式。
 
B: It's fun. I wouldn't give it up for anything else.
 
很有趣。說什么我也不會放棄這種生活方式。
