A: So, you know, you have a very small school. Have you ever worked for a large school before?
 
你辦了一家小型學(xué)校。你以前在大型學(xué)校工作過嗎？
 
B: Yes, I've worked basically every different type of school possible to work here in Japan, starting with the kindergarden, junior high, senmongakko. I was at a university for four years and I also did a little bit of intensive English camps just a couple of years ago.
 
有，我基本上在日本各種不同類型的學(xué)校工作過，從幼兒園、高中到職業(yè)學(xué)校，我都工作過。我曾在大學(xué)任教四年，幾年前我也在強(qiáng)化英語訓(xùn)練營工作過。
 
A: So you said senmongakko. What's that?

B: That's a kind of technical or vocational college. It's a two year school.

A: OK.

B: Yeah, I forgot to mention that I also taught at business company classes and of course, ei-kaiwa or language school here, too.
 
哦，我剛才忘了說我還在商業(yè)公司的課程上當(dāng)過老師，當(dāng)然也在日本的語言學(xué)校任過教。
 
A: OK, do you think that, you know, when you have your own... from a teaching point of view, when you have your own school, is the instruction different for a small language school compared to a big language school?
 
好，你認(rèn)為，有了自己的……從教學(xué)的角度來說，你開辦了自己的學(xué)校后，你認(rèn)為小型語言學(xué)校和大型語言學(xué)校的教學(xué)指導(dǎo)有區(qū)別嗎？
 
B: Well, the instruction is just depending on the teacher I think, and right now I'm the only full-time teacher and, you know, the guest teachers who do come, I know them personally so I know that the students always have a very qualified teacher and maybe that may be different because you know, sometimes at a big school it's hard to really monitor the teachers that you hire and even monitor what they are doing in the classroom.
 
我認(rèn)為教學(xué)方法取決于老師，現(xiàn)在我是唯一一個(gè)全職老師，你知道我會邀請一些客座講師來授課，我認(rèn)識這些客座講師，所以我知道給學(xué)生們講課的是稱職的老師，這可能是不同點(diǎn)，因?yàn)橛袝r(shí)大型學(xué)校很難監(jiān)督所聘請的老師，更別說監(jiān)督這些老師在課堂上的講課內(nèi)容了。
 
A: Right. Now, when you talk about a good quality teacher, for you what makes a good quality teacher?
 
好。剛才你談到了高素質(zhì)的老師，你認(rèn)為高素質(zhì)的老師要具備什么特質(zhì)？
 
B: Well, I think personality is very important for one thing, but also I think students need and want a teacher who has experience teaching English. Some of my friends back home tend to think it's easy to just be a native English speaker and teach English, which is really not the case, so I value an experienced teacher and someone who's also studied a little about it and has a TEFL certificate or something like that.
 
嗯，我認(rèn)為品格非常重要，當(dāng)然學(xué)生們需要的是擁有英語教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)的老師。我家鄉(xiāng)的一些朋友往往認(rèn)為母語是英語的人叫英語非常容易，但其實(shí)并不是這樣，我看重老師的經(jīng)驗(yàn)，還有學(xué)習(xí)過教學(xué)知識的人，最好有英語教師資格證之類的證書。
