A: Jess, usually when I see you, you're sitting at the computer checking your e-mail. How many times a day do you check it?
 
杰西，我每次看到你，你都坐在電腦前檢查電子郵件。你通常多久檢查一次郵件？
 
B: I honestly don't count, but many, many times. Definitely more than twenty times a day. It's not really necessary. It's not like I have millions of e-mails coming into my account every day, but I'm very impatient and I hate waiting for responses or waiting for something that I'm expecting so I'll check my e-mail so that I can receive it as soon as it's sent. How about you? Do you check your e-mails often?
 
說(shuō)實(shí)話(huà)，我沒(méi)有算過(guò)，不過(guò)我一天要檢查好多次。一天絕對(duì)超過(guò)20次。其實(shí)真的沒(méi)有必要這么做。我并不是每天都會(huì)收到無(wú)數(shù)封郵件，而是我非常沒(méi)耐心，我討厭等待別人回復(fù)郵件，討厭那種等待所期待事情的感覺(jué)，所以我希望我檢查郵箱時(shí)能馬上收到對(duì)方的回信。你呢？你經(jīng)常檢查郵件嗎？
 
A: I suppose I check once a day, and if I have any mail, it will be one or two weeks before I reply to it. I'm really bad at keeping in touch. I've got accounts at facebook and my space and hi5, all these social networking sites, but I almost never log on .... I got a message the other day, a friend telling me, I'm a boring facebooker. It's official because I haven't updated my profile in so long.
 
我大概一天檢查一次，如果我有郵件，那我可能會(huì)在一兩周后才會(huì)回復(fù)。我在保持聯(lián)系上做得不好。我有臉譜網(wǎng)賬號(hào)、我的空間的賬號(hào)，也有hi5的賬號(hào)，這些社交網(wǎng)站的賬號(hào)我都有，可是我?guī)缀鯊膩?lái)沒(méi)有登陸過(guò)，那天我收到了一個(gè)朋友的信息，朋友說(shuō)我是個(gè)無(wú)聊的臉譜網(wǎng)用戶(hù)。這是一條官方信息，因?yàn)槲乙呀?jīng)很久沒(méi)有更新過(guò)臉譜網(wǎng)上的簡(jiǎn)介了。
 
B: Why don't you? Is it that you haven't got enough time?
 
為什么呢？因?yàn)槟銢](méi)時(shí)間嗎？
 
A: I have got so much free time. I think it's just because I'm very lazy. I take photos. I meet people. I do things. I just don't feel the need to tell everyone about it at the end of the day. My family have kind of gotten used to it now. They know that I'll get in contact they'll likely to see me in the next few months, or I'll get in contact if there's a birthday or a baby, but apart from that, I really don't keep in touch very well.

B: Apart from e-mail, neither do I. I did join Facebook a couple of years ago when all of my friends did and everyone was sending me links to join, and I created my profile, but to be honest, it's too much for me to have more than one thing to check that many times a day, so usually I stick to e-mail for communication. Yes, I do check it a lot, but I think if I started checking Facebook as regularly, I wouldn't have time to do the things I need to every day.
 
除了電子郵件以外，我也不太和別人聯(lián)系。我?guī)啄昵白?cè)了臉譜網(wǎng)，當(dāng)時(shí)我所有朋友都注冊(cè)了臉譜網(wǎng)賬號(hào)，他們邀請(qǐng)我一起用臉譜網(wǎng)，我就創(chuàng)建了我的簡(jiǎn)介，不過(guò)說(shuō)實(shí)話(huà)，我實(shí)在無(wú)法每天檢查好幾種社交工具，所以通常我只會(huì)堅(jiān)持用電郵和別人交流。我的確每天要檢查好幾次，不過(guò)我想如果我開(kāi)始規(guī)律性地查看臉譜網(wǎng)，那我就沒(méi)有太多時(shí)間去做我每天要做的事情了。
