A: It's funny when we lived in Ogasawara though, isn't it? There were so many positive things but there is also certain things we missed. But firstly, can you recall any of those really, really special positive things that felt when you lived there?

B: It was just a very peaceful lifestyle, very connected to nature. The beaches were gorgeous. The weather was really nice. People were very warm, but yeah, after last year, that was the hardest for me. I started to miss so many things about living in mainland Japan.

A: What kind of things did you miss?

B: I missed going to the movies, going to a café and sitting down and reading books and reading magazines, and all of that that comes with a big city, the cultural aspects of it. What about you? What did you miss?
 
我想念可以去看電影、去咖啡廳、還有可以坐下來(lái)看書(shū)看雜志的生活，我想念大城市的那種文化氛圍。你呢？你想念什么？
 
A: Yeah, those things like everything was so naturally confined, so you could—the entertainment, you knew what was going to happen. So when we came back to mainland Japan, they're so unpredictable, you could, as you say, go for a drive or take a train and stumble across some café or some restaurant that you've never seen before and go in and you're anonymous and they had a menu that you never seen before. And you could sit there and then read and enjoy that. And it was impossible to enjoy that in Ogasawara, to do such things. And there certainly wasn't any cinemas or anything like that or shopping centers or modern things.
 
對(duì)，娛樂(lè)等方面自然受到了限制，你知道接下來(lái)會(huì)發(fā)生什么。我們回到日本內(nèi)陸以后，所有事都是不可預(yù)測(cè)的，如你所說(shuō)，可以開(kāi)車兜風(fēng)或者坐火車，可能會(huì)遇到以前沒(méi)看到過(guò)的咖啡廳或餐廳，你走進(jìn)去，他們并不知道你的名字，他們的菜單你可能以前從來(lái)沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)。你可以坐在里面看書(shū)，享受時(shí)光。而這些在小笠原群島都是享受不到的。當(dāng)然島上也沒(méi)有電影院和購(gòu)物中心等現(xiàn)代的東西。
 
B: Would you like to go back?
 
你想回島上去嗎？
 
A: I'd love to go back there because the community was so strong and so solid. And it felt—I wasn't born there and I'm not even Japanese but I felt completely like I was in my hometown every time I was there and totally accepted in the place and in the community. But as we found out since we've left there, the world is huge and there's so many communities and so many places all over the world. And I could go back, but I could go to a new place equally. How about you?
 
我很想回去，因?yàn)槟抢锏纳鐓^(qū)強(qiáng)大又堅(jiān)固。雖然我不是在那里出生的，我也不是日本人，但是我在那里生活的時(shí)候，我感覺(jué)那就是我的家鄉(xiāng)，那里完全接受了我。不過(guò)我們發(fā)現(xiàn)，世界很大，全世界有很多社區(qū)和很多地方。我可以回島上去生活，不過(guò)我也可以去一個(gè)新的地方。你呢？
 
B: Personally, I found it too difficult to live so close to nature. I'd say that was a great experience but I wouldn't do it again.
 
我個(gè)人認(rèn)為接近自然的生活很難。我認(rèn)為那的確是次很棒的經(jīng)歷，但是我不想再體驗(yàn)一次。
 
A: You wouldn't like to live so close to nature anymore.
 
你不想再過(guò)如此接近自然的生活。
 
B: In an island. Yeah, that's one of the things that made it so difficult. But overall, it was a wonderful experience and I recommend people to go there and see all the beautiful nature that Ogasawara has.
 
在島上生活，那太難了。不過(guò)總的來(lái)說(shuō)，那是次美妙的經(jīng)歷，我建議人們?nèi)バ◇以簫u欣賞美麗的自然風(fēng)景。
