A: Okay. So Sarah, I see you eat soup every day at work. Why are you eating soup every day?
 
好。薩拉，我看到你每天上班都會喝湯。你為什么每天都喝湯？
 
B: That's because I love to cook soup.
 
因為我喜歡做湯喝。
 
A: So you make the soup?
 
你自己動手做湯？
 
B: Yes, it's very easy to make.
 
對，很容易做的。
 
A: So you cook it and then you just bring it to work everyday?
 
你做好以后帶去辦公室？
 
B: Yeah. I just make a lot on Monday and then I bring it to work everyday of the week.
 
對。我周一會做很多湯，然后工作日每天帶一點去辦公室。
 
A: Oh nice. So how do you make the soup? What's your secret?
 
真不錯。你怎么做湯？有什么秘訣嗎？
 
B: Well, I like to cook very easy. So I buy meat that's already cut up, usually, chicken and then some rice, usually brown rice and then I buy some vegetables. So after I bought the ingredients, I chop them up and I put them all together in water until boils and add some seasoning.
 
我喜歡簡單烹飪。我會買已經(jīng)切好的肉，通常我會買雞肉，再買些糙米和蔬菜。買好原料以后，我會把它們切碎，然后等水開以后一起放進(jìn)去煮，最后再加一些調(diào)味品。
 
A: Okay. So you say the water boils, so as soon as the water boils that's when you put in all the ingredients?
 
好。你說把水煮開，那是水一開你就把所有原料都放進(jìn)去煮嗎？
 
B: Yes, that's right.
 
對，沒錯。
 
A: So you don't put in the ingredients before the water boils.
 
在水煮開以前不放原料。
 
B: No. I guess, it's just easier for the water to be hot because then the vegetables and the meat cook a little faster.
 
不放。水開以后再放進(jìn)去煮比較容易，因為這樣蔬菜和肉熟的更快。
 
A: So how do you give the soup flavoring?
 
那怎么給湯調(diào)味？
 
B: I usually add salt and pepper, maybe some garlic. And depending on the type of soup, either maybe some soy sauce or lemon juice.
 
一般我會加鹽、辣椒還有一些大蒜。這要取決于是哪種湯，有的湯要放醬油或檸檬汁。
 
A: Okay. Do you put in the flavoring after you put in the ingredients or before you put in the ingredients?
 
好。你是在放原料之后加調(diào)味品還是在之前調(diào)味？
 
B: Maybe after but usually, right about all at the same time.
 
放原料之后，不過我差不多是同時進(jìn)行調(diào)味。
 
A: Okay.
 
好。
 
B: So I just put everything in at one time.
 
我會同時把所有東西放進(jìn)去。
 
A: And then after you cook the soup, do you put the soup in the refrigerator? Do you let it sit outside?
 
湯做好以后你是把湯放進(jìn)冰箱嗎？還是先在外面放一會兒？
 
B: I usually eat some right then, and I also put it in containers for the week. But I let it sit in the containers out on the counter for a while for it to cool before I put in the refrigerator.
 
做好以后我會喝一點兒，然后把要帶去辦公室的湯放在容器里。裝湯的容器要先在廚房的操作臺上放一會兒，然后再放進(jìn)冰箱。
 
A: All right. And so, you don't put it in the refrigerator until it is cool?
 
好。在湯涼了以后你才會放到冰箱里去？
 
B: Until it's about room temperature.
 
在湯的溫度和室溫差不多的時候放進(jìn)去。
 
A: Okay, nice. And then how do you heat it up? Do you heat it up in a pot or do you heat it up in the microwave?
 
好，很好。那你怎么加熱？你是用鍋熱湯還是用微波爐熱？
 
B: In the microwave. It's the easiest.
 
用微波爐。這是最簡單的方法。
 
A: Yeah. Nice. So you make enough for five meals?
 
對，不錯。你會做出足夠五頓飯的量？
 
B: Maybe, sometimes. If I think I will get tired of eating it during the week then maybe I'll just make enough for three or four meals. But if it's some kind that I think is really delicious and I know I want to eat it everyday, then I'll make a lot.
 
也許吧，有時是。如果我認(rèn)為這個湯喝一禮拜我會喝膩，那我可能只做三四頓的量出來。如果我認(rèn)為那個湯非常好喝，我知道我想每天都喝，那我就會多做一些。
 
A: Well, if that happens, when you make the soup, you can make it for six or seven and give me a bowl.

B: Okay. I'll do that next time.
