A: Today we're talking about do-overs. So if you had a time machine and you could go back to your college years, is there anything that you might change or do differently?
 
今天我們來聊聊想重新來過的事情。如果你有一臺時光機，你能回到大學(xué)時代，你有沒有想改變的事情或用不同方法去做的事情？
 
B: I really wish that I would have had the chance to study abroad. I chose the wrong major initially. I was a nursing major for two years, and worked really hard at a major I was really bad at. And then after two years, I switched schools and switched majors. And because of that, I had so many credits to take that I couldn't study abroad or do really any extra classes that were fun.
 
我非常希望能有機會去留學(xué)。一開始我就選錯專業(yè)了。我學(xué)習(xí)了兩年的護理專業(yè)，而且我在我并不擅長的專業(yè)上非常努力。兩年之后，我換了學(xué)校和專業(yè)。正因如此，我有許多學(xué)分要修，所以我沒能出國留學(xué)，也沒能參加有趣的興趣班。
 
A: Hmm, that must have been challenging. Where would you have liked to study abroad?
 
嗯，那一定極具挑戰(zhàn)。你想去哪里留學(xué)？
 
B: Really, anywhere. I've always loved to travel, so I would have been open to going anywhere.
 
說實話，哪里都行。我一直熱愛旅游，所以去任何地方都可以。
 
A: So you said you studied nursing, what would you have studied otherwise?
 
你說你學(xué)過護理，那你還學(xué)過什么？
 
B: Well, I first went into nursing because everyone since I was really little told me that I would be a good nurse. So I thought it was my calling in life. And then after taking lots and lots of science classes, which I'm really bad at, I decided to switch majors to education. And then I ended up liking that major, so I'm really happy that I switched.
 
一開始我學(xué)的是護理專業(yè)，因為在我很小的時候，所有人都跟我說我會成為一名優(yōu)秀的護士。所以以前我以為那是我的天職?？墒呛髞碓谏狭撕芏嗫茖W(xué)課以后，我發(fā)現(xiàn)我非常不擅長這個專業(yè)，所以我決定換專業(yè)，改修教育學(xué)。我很喜歡教育學(xué)，所以我很高興我換了專業(yè)。
 
A: Was there any other major that you would find interesting that you might study if you went back or you're satisfied with education?
 
回想一下，有沒有其他專業(yè)是你想學(xué)習(xí)的，還是說你對教育學(xué)很滿意？
 
B: I'm glad I did education because I really liked that work wise. But if I had to go with things that I'm interested in, I probably would have been some sort of art major. Both of my siblings are artists, so it kind of runs in the family a little bit.
 
我很高興我修了教育學(xué)，因為我非常喜歡這個專業(yè)。如果要選擇感興趣的專業(yè)，那我可能會學(xué)藝術(shù)。我的兄弟姐妹都是藝術(shù)家，這有點像是家族傳承。
 
A: What kind of art do you like?
 
你喜歡哪種藝術(shù)？
 
B: Mainly dance, but I also was really into music growing up, so musical instruments and singing.
 
主要是舞蹈，不過我在成長過程中也非常喜歡音樂，樂器和歌唱。
 
A: So, do you have any friends that were interested in art or dance that you had in those times?
 
當(dāng)時你有朋友對藝術(shù)或是舞蹈感興趣嗎？
 
B: Not really. No, actually.

A: Do you wish that if you were in a group of people that like the similar things that you might have pursued different interests.
 
你會不會希望周圍有朋友和你喜歡類似的事情，但是追求不同的興趣？
 
B: Hmm, definitely. I wish I would have done more with dance. I was a ballerina for 12 years. And I gave up on that when I was 14. So I got to the level where I either had to train professionally to do that for a job or stay in a class where the younger girls would keep moving up. And so at that time, I quit. And although I don't wish I was still doing ballet, I wish I would continued some kind of dance.
 
當(dāng)然了。我希望我跳舞的時間再長一些。我跳了12年的芭蕾。但是，我在14歲時放棄了芭蕾。當(dāng)時我的情況是，我要么選擇接受職業(yè)訓(xùn)練，成為一名芭蕾舞演員，要么和不斷進步的年輕女孩一起學(xué)芭蕾。所以我選擇放棄。雖然我并不希望繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)芭蕾，不過我希望我能繼續(xù)跳舞。
 
A: Interesting. So Sarah, any funny haircuts or anything like that?
 
有意思。薩拉，你有沒有留過奇怪的發(fā)型？
 
B: Actually, yes. One week before I moved away to college, I cut my hair boy-short. And then after that, like during my first semester, I'd dyed it all different shades of red. And my hair has actually been pretty much every link and every natural-ish color.
 
實際上，有。進入大學(xué)的一周以前，我把頭發(fā)剪得像男孩一樣短。然后，我在大學(xué)第一個學(xué)期把頭發(fā)染成了各種紅色色系。基本上我的頭發(fā)是非常自然的顏色。
 
A: Wow. How did your friends and family respond to your red hair?
 
哇哦。你的朋友和家人怎么看你的紅發(fā)？
 
B: My mom didn't like it so much. She thought I was going to die like a natural red color, but it was more of fuchsia red color. So she didn't like it very much. But my friends and like siblings understood because I've always been very different and didn't really care what other people thought about how I looked.
 
我媽媽非常不喜歡。她之前以為我會把頭發(fā)染成自然的紅色，不過我染的顏色更像是櫻桃紅。所以她非常不喜歡。不過我朋友和兄弟姐妹非常理解，因為我一直與眾不同，而且并不在乎別人怎么看我的外表。
 
A: How long did you like it?
 
你的紅發(fā)留了多長時間？
 
B: For a while until I wanted change. I love change, so I'd always switch it to something else.
 
在我想改變顏色之前，我一直是紅發(fā)。我喜歡改變，我經(jīng)常改變發(fā)色。
