　　S: Hi, Mary. I haven't seen you in ages! I heard that you and Daniel are getting married on August 8th, the opening day of the 2008 Olympic Games. Is it true?

　　嗨，瑪麗，好久不見!聽說你和丹尼爾打算8月8日，也就是2008年奧運會的第一天結(jié)婚，是真的嗎?

　　E: yes, it is. We've been dating for over 7 years. We have decided to get married on a special day and we think August 8th, 2008 is a red-letter day.

　　是的，我們已經(jīng)談了7年戀愛，決定選個特殊的日子結(jié)婚。2008年8月8日正是個好日子。

　　S: good for you! It sounds like you've done a lot of planning in a very short time.

　　太好了!看起來你們要在很短的時間內(nèi)準備很多事情了。

　　E: yes, there is a lot of to be taken care of---wedding photos, wedding dress, catering, transport, hotel, etc…

　　是啊，要考慮很多事---拍結(jié)婚照，選婚紗，擺酒席，安排車輛等。

　　S: is everything ready now?

　　都準備好了嗎?

　　E: almost. The only thing that isn't ready is the hotel. As a lot of people have chosen that day to get married, it is hard to find a hotel that isn't too expensive.

　　差不多了，就剩酒店了。因為那天有很多人結(jié)婚，很難找到價位適合的酒店。

　　S: have you tried The Peninsula Palace Beijing? My wedding reception was held there and they did an excellent job.

　　你試過王府半島酒店嗎?我的婚宴就在那兒辦的，辦的很好。

　　E: yes, we called, but it is booked up. The only choice is the Regent Beijing but we haven't made up our minds yet.

　　是的，打過電話了，但是已經(jīng)訂滿了，就只剩下北京麗晶酒店了，我們還沒決定呢。

　　S: it's an excellent hotel. A friend of mine had her wedding reception there and sasid it was perfect, though very expensive.

　　北京麗晶酒店很好啊。我有個朋友就在那兒辦的婚宴，聽說不錯，只是價格稍微貴了點。

　　E: that's why we want to have a look at other hotels. We don’t want to spend too much on an extravagant wedding reception.

　　所以我們想再看看。我們不想在婚宴上太鋪張。

　　S: I guess you're right. I can help you ask other hotels. I am sure there are probably some available.

　　說的也是，我可以幫你問問其它酒店，肯定有一些還沒訂滿。

　　E: thank you.

　　謝謝你。

　　S: my pleasure.

　　別客氣。

　　J: what was your wedding ceremony like, Abigail?

　　蓋布莉加爾，你們的結(jié)婚典禮怎么樣?

　　A: my husband and I got married in a registry office with just two friends there as witnesses. But then we had three parties to celebrate.

　　我和我丈夫請了2個朋友做見證人，去婚姻注冊處注了冊。可是，接著我們要辦3場酒席。

　　J: three parties? That's quite a lot. That must have been expensive!

　　三場?太多了，一定要花很多錢!

　　A: well, since my husband and I are from two different countries, and we live in a third country, we decided to have one in each country. It wasn't actually that expensive.

　　嗯，因為我和我丈夫來自不同國家，而且我們又在第三個國家生活。所以，我們打算在每個國家請一次客。實際上花費也不會太多。

　　J: were your parents upset that they weren't there to see you get married?

　　你們的父母沒能出席你們的婚禮，他們不會覺得有點失望嗎?

　　A: I would have liked them to be there, but they couldn’t afford to fly out to see us, and we couldn't afford to fly out to see them, so they understood.

　　我其實很希望他們能來，但是他們負擔不了飛過來看我們的機票費用，我們?nèi)タ此麄円餐瑯语w不起，所以我們就互相理解吧。

　　J: did your husband's family get to meet your family?

　　你公公婆婆和你父母見過面嗎?

　　A: my husband's parents flew out to meet my family when we got married in my hometown, so that was great. Some people spend ridiculous amounts of money on extravagant wedding receptions, but we agreed that the wedding party should be less about money and more about family.

　　我們在我家鄉(xiāng)結(jié)婚的時候，我公公婆婆飛過來和我父母見了一面，非常愉快。有些人為了辦個豪華婚禮不惜一擲千金，可是我們還是覺得婚禮應該多一點家庭的溫馨，少一點金錢的裝點。

　　J: that makes sense. Did you go on a honeymoon?

　　有道理。你們?nèi)ザ让墼铝藛?

　　A: we waited until our one-year anniversary to go on our honeymoon to Africa.

　　我們想結(jié)婚一周年的時候去非洲度蜜月。

　　J: you really didn't have a very traditional wedding, did you?

　　你們的婚禮真的跟傳統(tǒng)式不沾邊，對吧?

　　A: not at all, but we don’t have a very traditional marriage either, so it suited us perfectly!

　　沒錯，而且我們也不是普通的婚姻，所以，這種婚禮和我們正好相配。
