　　A: I wished you hadn’t cancelled our membership to the sports club. I wanted to go swimming.

　　B: What’s the diff? A new club has opened up the road. It’s cheaper and has much better sporting facilities.

　　A: 我多希望你沒(méi)有取消我們?cè)隗w育俱樂(lè)部的會(huì)員資格。我想去游泳。

　　B: 這有什么大不了的?這條路上又新開(kāi)了一家俱樂(lè)部。那里更便宜，而且運(yùn)動(dòng)設(shè)施更好。

　　A: Catherine seems like a nice girl, but I heard some bad things about her past.

　　B: I don’t give a hoot about what you think. I’m going to ask her to be my girlfriend.

　　A: Catherine看起來(lái)是個(gè)不錯(cuò)的女孩，但是我聽(tīng)到一些關(guān)于她過(guò)去的不好傳聞。

　　B: 隨你怎么想。我打算讓她做我女朋友。

　　【語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)精講】

　　membership: 會(huì)員資格。

　　What’s the diff? : 這是個(gè)反問(wèn)句，不需要回答。意思是盡管有不同的選擇，但是這些選擇彼此之間沒(méi)有什么區(qū)別。diff是difference的口語(yǔ)表達(dá)。

　　facility: 設(shè)施。

　　don’t give a hoot: 這是個(gè)俚語(yǔ)表達(dá)，相當(dāng)于 “I don’t care.” hoot指的是貓頭鷹的叫。
