　　A: James is sure a wet blanket. He had to point out that people don’t laugh at my jokes anymore.

　　B: He’s right. It’s not you, but people don’t go for the same jokes any longer. And your comedy routine has become old hat.

　　A: Yes, it feels like I’m singing the same old song every time. I need a change.

　　B: Yes, well that song is enough to put someone to sleep.

　　A: James真是個讓人掃興的人，就算我的笑話一點也不逗樂，他也不一定非得說出來呀。

　　B: 他這樣做沒有什么不對，誰能總聽同樣的笑話。你那套搞笑的保留節(jié)目太過時了。

　　A: 我有感覺我好像總是在老生常談，看來我也該改變一下了。

　　B: 是呀，那些話是夠讓人發(fā)困的了。

　　【語言點精講】

　　wet blanket: 給別人潑冷水的人，掃興的人。通常不用來形容自己。

　　point out: 指出。

　　go for: 選擇，寧要。

　　routine: 經(jīng)常表演的固定節(jié)目。

　　old hat: 老式的，陳舊的，過時的。

　　sing the same old song: 形容某事經(jīng)常被重復(fù)，以至于無聊。

　　enough to put someone to sleep: 形容某事極其無聊，足以使人入睡。
