The Departed is a 2006 American crime thriller film remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs directed by Martin Scorsese and rewritten by William Monahan. Legendary director Martin Scorsese takes the helm for this tale of questionable loyalties and blurring identities set in the South Boston organized crime scene and inspired by the wildly popular 2002 Hong Kong crime film Infernal Affairs. As the police force attempts to reign in the increasingly powerful Irish mafia, authorities are faced with the prospect of sending in an undercover agent or seeing their already frail grip on the criminal underworld slip even further. Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a young cop looking to make a name for himself in the world of law enforcement. Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) is a street-smart criminal who has successfully infiltrated the police department with the sole intention of reporting their every move to ruthless syndicate head Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). When Costigan is assigned the task of working his way into Costello's tightly guarded inner circle, Sullivan is faced with the responsibility of rooting out the informer before things get out of hand. With the stakes constantly rising and time quickly running out for the undercover cop and his criminal counterpart, each man must work feverishly to reveal his counterpart before his identity is exposed by the other.

The Departed was highly anticipated, and was released on October 6, 2006 to universal acclaim. The film is one of the highest-rated wide release films of 2006 on Rotten Tomatoes at 93%. Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade, "best-of" list, saying, "If they're lucky, directors make one classic film in their career. Martin Scorsese has one per decade (Taxi Driver in the '70s, Raging Bull in the'80s, Goodfellas in the '90s). His 2006 Irish Mafia masterpiece kept the streak alive."

The film won four Academy Awards at the 79th Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Martin Scorsese), Best Film Editing (Thelma Schoonmaker), and Best Adapted Screenplay (William Monahan). Mark Wahlberg was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance, but he lost to Alan Arkin for his role in Little Miss Sunshine. The film marked the first time Scorsese won an Oscar; many felt that he deserved it years earlier for prior efforts. Some have even gone further, calling it a Lifetime Achievement Award for a lesser film. Scorsese himself stated that he won because: "This is the first movie I've done with a plot." In 2008, The Departed was nominated for AFI's Top 10 Gangster Films list.

制作花絮

本片的技術(shù)顧問(wèn)是在美國(guó)波士頓警局工作了30年的退休探員托馬斯B·巴菲，在職期間他擅長(zhǎng)于調(diào)查有組織的犯罪，曾參與對(duì)南波士頓最臭名昭著的匪徒白佬·巴爾杰的定罪調(diào)查，片中杰克·尼科爾森所扮演的弗蘭克就部分取材于這位黑幫分子的犯罪經(jīng)歷。另外，托馬斯B·巴菲還在片中客串了在警校畢業(yè)典禮上講話的官員。

導(dǎo)演馬丁·斯科西斯最初希望在波士頓拍攝本片，但因15%的稅收優(yōu)惠而改在紐約拍攝了影片的大半部分。雖然在波士頓的拍攝計(jì)劃縮減為6周，但仍分為兩次拍攝，前半部分拍攝于6月，后半部分拍攝于8月。
