成龍談世博：更重要的是比環(huán)保

As an actor, I have visited many countries and countless cities big and small. I have traveled from Hong Kong to Hollywood, from China to the outside world and then back to my homeland again. In one sense, I have completed a“circle.”After meeting so many people and seeing so many different lifestyles, I have become increasingly aware of the importance that a healthy, eco-friendly environment plays in the lives of city residents.

There is a saying that“people who live in cities create the urban landscape.”In my opinion, it is human beings that constitute cities, create a beautiful life and live it. Human beings are the cells and souls of cities. If people deserve top billing in development policies, as we have often heard, then development of our cities should be people-oriented. It is people that give cities their culture, character and creativity, turning them into landscapes that beautify our earth.

Just like human beings, a city will grow in a healthy manner only with warm sunlight, fresh air and clean water. These are the fundamental conditions that allow urban dwellers to raise families successfully, and only by the mutual commitment of all people can development of harmonious relations exist. Through the convergence of harmonious cities across the world, the earth would become even more lovely.

I served as an image ambassador for Beijing’s bid to host the Olympic Games, and I am honored to work in a similar capacity for World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, another great international event. While the Olympic Games dealt with sports, the World Expo is business-oriented. This is not, however, merely a sort of gala. As its theme“Better City, Better Life”implies, this event is closely related to our life and its quality. This World Expo proclaims a great theme. Environmental protection has now moved to the world’s center stage.

Rather than simply trumpeting the World Expo as an image ambassador, I, as a citizen of China and a compatriot of Shanghai, would just like to express the love and confidence Shanghai residents hold for their city. I want to raise public awareness of environmental protection at the grassroots level. No matter which city we live in, we share the same blue sky above us, and we also hope to leave this blue sky to our future generations. For the sake of our cities and everyone living in them, we can all contribute in our daily lives by saving water, recycling water, turning off lights we don’t need, reducing dependence on air conditioners, making the best use of paper, recycling wastes, preferring public transport, rejecting food made from wild animals, and properly disposing of used batteries. When we work together to protect our cities, we are also protecting our earth.

Speaking from my own experience I’d like to tell you that we should not only trust ourselves, but also trust humanity, trust kindness, trust mercy and more importantly, trust our nation. Belief is a power that creates a beautiful life for us all.

I am confident this World Expo will be an unprecedented event in that cause.

由于工作拍戲的緣故，我去了很多不同的國(guó)家，到過(guò)世界各地許多的城市，大大小小無(wú)法計(jì)數(shù)。從香港到好萊塢，從中國(guó)到世界，再?gòu)氖澜缁氐阶约旱膰?guó)家，可以說(shuō)我走完了“一個(gè)圈”。見(jiàn)了很多不同的人，也看到他們的各色生活，就越來(lái)越覺(jué)得，一個(gè)健康、環(huán)保的城市對(duì)人們的生活多么重要。

所謂“人在城中，城在景中”，在我看來(lái)，構(gòu)成城市的主體是人，創(chuàng)造美好生活的主體是人，享受美好生活的主體也是人。人，既是城市的細(xì)胞，又是城市的靈魂。如果說(shuō)，國(guó)家和社會(huì)的發(fā)展要“以人為本”，城市的發(fā)展更是要“以人為本”。人，賦予了城市文化、性格和創(chuàng)造力，才使得城市成為地球上一道多姿的風(fēng)景。所以，城市的發(fā)展也好比一個(gè)人的成長(zhǎng)，是否能健康發(fā)育，其基本需要是有溫暖的陽(yáng)光、清新的空氣、干凈的水。只有這樣，活在城市中的人，才能生氣蓬勃地?fù)纹鹎f(wàn)個(gè)家；只有全世界的人相互支撐，人與人之間和諧相處，城與城的共融交匯，世界才會(huì)更美好。

現(xiàn)在，我從北京申奧形象大使到上海世博大使，是非常開(kāi)心的。這又是一個(gè)國(guó)際盛事，奧林匹克是關(guān)于運(yùn)動(dòng)的，世博會(huì)是關(guān)于文明的。但這又不僅僅只是一個(gè)盛事，正如 “城市，讓生活更美好”，這個(gè)盛事是與我們的生活、生活的質(zhì)量息息相關(guān)。這一次世博的主題很好，除了大家在比科技，最主要的是要比環(huán)保。

我不愿意簡(jiǎn)單地作為一名上海世博形象大使去講世博的好，而是更希望以這個(gè)國(guó)家的一分子，這個(gè)城市的一分子，來(lái)傳播中國(guó)人對(duì)自己城市的愛(ài)護(hù)和信心，來(lái)推廣從小處環(huán)保、從自己開(kāi)始環(huán)保的方式。不管住在哪個(gè)城市，我們頭頂?shù)亩际峭瑯右黄{(lán)天，我們還希望給后代也留下一片藍(lán)天。為了城市的呼吸，為了城市里的人呼吸，我們可以從節(jié)約每一滴水、一水多用、隨手關(guān)燈、減用空調(diào)、珍惜紙張、回收垃圾、多乘公共交通、拒食野生動(dòng)物、妥善處理電池等等這些身邊小事做起。我們攜手保護(hù)了我們的城市，也是在保護(hù)著我們的地球。

同時(shí)，我僅以自己所走過(guò)的路、看過(guò)的風(fēng)景來(lái)告訴大家，我們不僅要相信自己，還要相信人性，相信善良，相信慈悲，更要相信我們的國(guó)家。相信是一種力量，它將凝結(jié)成我們美好的生活。

我也相信，這一屆世博也將是史無(wú)前例的。
