標準結尾寫法
故名意思,也就是自然而然的結束,不再進一步進行贅述。例如一段關于Fishing的結尾如是寫道:
I caught as many as twenty fish in two hours, but my brother caught more. Tired from fishing, we lay down on the river bank,bathing in the sun. We returned home very late.
強調(diào)觀點寫法
用反問的形式結尾,往往能夠起到強調(diào)觀點的作用,雖然看似問句,實則為肯定,更能起到發(fā)人深思的意境。例如一篇表述對于青少年做家務觀點的文章結尾:
Should we learn to do some housework? I think everyone should. Don't you aGREe, boys and girls?
重復觀點寫法
在文章的結尾如果感到無話可說,又意猶未盡,不妨采用呼應首段的做法。這樣不僅可以將文章稍作總結,而且再一次明確主題,甚至升華主題,不失為畫龍點睛之筆。比如這篇描述難忘之人的文章結尾:
After her death, I felt as if something were missing in my life. I was sad over her passing away,but I knew she would not have had any regrets at having given her life for the benefit of the people.
修辭結尾寫法
這種結尾的方式對于中國學生來說并不常見,因為需要運用到比喻等含蓄的修辭方式,雖然沒有直接表明觀點,但卻能夠帶領讀者去思考。
Evening came before we realized. We put down our sickles and looked at each other. Our clothes were wet with sweat,But on every face there was a smile.
鼓勵式寫法
在結尾處對未來進行展望,并激勵讀者。例如一篇關于Sports的文章結尾處這樣描寫:
As we have said above, sports can be of great value. They not only make people live happily but also help people to learn virtues and do their work better. A sound mind is in a sound body. Let’s go in for sports.
其實GRE的作文結尾不應該拘泥于統(tǒng)一的形式,而是要根據(jù)主題靈活創(chuàng)造。如果是記敘文可以用自然結尾,但如果是議論文或說明文,則反復強調(diào)主題的效果會更好。此外,在寫GRE文章時,不要忘記注意文章整體結構的完整性。
