Education plays a very important role in the modernization of our country. The modernization of our country calls for the modernization of education in advance. However, the development of education is by no means balanced all over the country. In some poverty-stricken areas, a surprisingly large number of school-agars cannot afford to go to school. As a result, the Project Hope is initiated to promote education in those areas.

教育在我國的現(xiàn)代化進程中發(fā)揮著非常重要的作用。我國的現(xiàn)代化進程要求教育必須提前實現(xiàn)現(xiàn)代化。然而，教育的發(fā)展在全國范圍內(nèi)絕非均衡。在一些貧困地區(qū)，數(shù)量驚人的學(xué)齡兒童無法負(fù)擔(dān)得起上學(xué)的費用。因此，發(fā)起了“希望工程”以促進這些地區(qū)的教育發(fā)展。

This project, in my eyes, is necessary especially in two respects. For one thing, if children can't gain access to education, the lack of human resources will be inevitable, and how can we hope to get rid of illiteracy and poverty? For another, at present it is beyond the ability of our government to provide enough money for so many school dropouts. The project hope accepts donations from organizations, enterprises and individuals, and then distributes the fund scientifically and reasonably to those in need of help.

在我看來，這個項目在兩個方面尤為必要。一方面，如果孩子們無法接受教育，人力資源的匱乏將不可避免，我們又怎能期望擺脫文盲和貧困呢？另一方面，目前政府無力為如此多的輟學(xué)兒童提供足夠的資金。希望工程接受來自組織、企業(yè)和個人的捐款，然后科學(xué)、合理地分配資金給那些需要幫助的人。

My suggestion is that all of us who have the financial ability join in the Project to help those school-agers. Only when all of us extend the helping hands can we hope to modernize our education and our nation.

我的建議是，所有有經(jīng)濟能力的人都應(yīng)該加入這個項目，幫助那些學(xué)齡兒童。只有當(dāng)我們所有人都伸出援手時，我們才能期望實現(xiàn)教育的現(xiàn)代化和國家的現(xiàn)代化。
