［注解］指換換工作或變換一下所干之事也能使人身體得到放松，休息。
［譯］調(diào)劑一下也是很好的休息。

［注解］嘴巴閉得緊，蒼蠅飛不進。指病從口入，禍從口出。
［譯］嘴巴能安靜，災(zāi)禍不來尋。
A creaking door (or gate) hangs long (on the hinges).
［注解］意指體弱多病者反比健壯的人更長壽。有時健康者也有可能得暴病而死，常病的人像破門一樣常開。此諺語可用來安慰體弱多病的人。
［譯］體弱多病者長壽；戶樞不蠹。
A disease known is half cured.
［譯］病情確診斷，治病好一半。
A good appetite is a good sauce.
［譯］饑不擇食。

［注解］稱職的外科醫(yī)生應(yīng)具有鷹眼，獅心和女郎的手。指出色的外科大夫必須心明眼亮、膽大心細和有一雙靈巧的手。

［注解］語出古羅馬諷刺家朱文諾爾。
［譯］健康的思想寓于健康的身體之中。
A good medicine tastes bitter. (or Bitter pills may have wholesome effects.)
［譯］良藥苦口利于病。

［注解］語出英國劇作家莎士比亞。
［譯］靜以修身。

［注解］語出《新約·馬太福音》第6章第24節(jié)。同一章節(jié)還有一句：You can not serve God and Mammon. 你不可能既侍奉上帝又侍奉財神。Mammon財神。
［譯］一仆不能事二主。

［注解］與此同義的有一句：A man can not whistle and drink at the same time. 一人只有一張嘴，要吹口哨就喝不了水。比喻一心不能二用。

［譯］馬虎干活，準(zhǔn)得返工。

［注解］這是對那些欲享健康的人有實用意義的勸告。
［譯］午飯后歇一歇，晚飯后走一走；飯后百步走，活到九十九。
All is well that ends well.
［注解］莎士比亞曾以此句作為一出戲劇之名，朱生豪譯為《終成眷屬》，其第4幕第4場中有：All's well that ends well; still the fine's the crown; Whate'er the course, the end is renown. 萬事吉兇成敗，須看后場結(jié)局；倘能如愿以償，何患路途迂曲。指只要結(jié)局好就行，不必計較經(jīng)過的波折。
［譯］結(jié)果好，一切都好。

［注解］語出James Howell，英國作家賀維爾。此諺語提醒人們無論工作或?qū)W習(xí)，需勞逸結(jié)合。
［譯］只工作，不玩耍，聰明孩子要變傻；盡玩耍，不學(xué)習(xí)，聰明孩子沒出息。
