那些給我智慧和勇氣的寓言故事28：男孩和釘子

　　There once was a little boy who had a bad temper .His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that erevy time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

　　從前，有個(gè)小男孩兒，脾氣很壞。他的父親給了他一包釘子，并告訴他每次發(fā)脾氣時(shí)，就用錘子把一根釘子釘在籬笆上。

　　The first day,the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.Over the next few weeks,as he learned to control his anger.the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails to the fence.

　　第一天，男孩兒釘了37根釘子。接下來的幾個(gè)星期，他學(xué)會(huì)了控制自己的脾氣，每天釘?shù)尼斪訑?shù)目逐漸減少了。他發(fā)現(xiàn)，控制脾氣要比釘釘子容易些。

　　Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all.He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

　　終于有一天，男孩再也不亂發(fā)脾氣了。他把這件事告訴了父親。父親建議他從現(xiàn)在起，如果能夠一天不發(fā)脾氣，就拔出一根釘子。

　　The days passed by and the boy finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

　　時(shí)間一天天過去了，男孩終于告訴父親所有的釘子都拔光了。

　　The father took his son by the hand and led him to the hence.

　　父親拉著男孩的手，把他帶到籬笆前

　　He said,"You have done well,my son,but look at the holes in the hence.The hence will never the same.

　　對(duì)他說：“你做得很好，我的孩子，但你看看籬笆上的那些洞，籬笆永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)再和以前一樣了。

　　When you say something in anger ,they leave a scar just like this one.You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.It won’t matter how many things you say I’m sorry the wound is still there.

　　當(dāng)你說氣話時(shí)，就會(huì)給人留下傷痕，就像這些洞一樣。用刀子傷一個(gè)人，再把它拔出來，無論你說多少次對(duì)不起也沒有用，傷口仍然在那兒。
