勞倫斯（D. H. Lawrence，1885-1930），英國二十世紀(jì)初期小說家和詩人。生于諾丁漢郡的一個(gè)礦區(qū)，從小感受到人世間復(fù)雜而微妙的情感關(guān)系以及工業(yè)文明對(duì)人的心靈和感情的摧殘。他的詩作鋒利、直率，感覺敏銳、細(xì)膩，常抨擊上層社會(huì)的精神空虛，探察原始的大自然與人的關(guān)系。在語言形式上他的詩突破了傳統(tǒng)詩歌的桎梏，自由地表達(dá)詩人的直覺，使語言、經(jīng)驗(yàn)和情感渾然一體，流暢而舒展，有一種動(dòng)感和內(nèi)在的韻律，令人深思和回味。

Softly, in the dusk, a woman is singing to me;

So now it is vain for the singer to burst into clamour

With the great black piano appassionato. The glamour
