經(jīng)典英語散文:畢業(yè)生的求職壓力 Graduates’ Pressure in Finding Jobs

Nowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. They experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. What is the cause of this phenomenon

目前，越來越多的大學(xué)生抱怨說畢業(yè)和就業(yè)并不是一回事了。為了找一份滿意的工作，他們經(jīng)歷了重重困難，而出現(xiàn)這種現(xiàn)象的原因又是什么呢?

In my opinion, there are four causes:

以我看，原因有四：

First, graduates lack experience. They spend most of their time at school studying academic subjects and lack relevant job training. Only after graduation do they realize it’s hard to find jobs.

首先，畢業(yè)生缺乏工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)。他們在學(xué)校的大部分時(shí)間都在學(xué)習(xí)功課，缺乏相關(guān)的工作培訓(xùn)?？稍谒麄兇髮W(xué)畢業(yè)之后，卻又發(fā)現(xiàn)他們很難找到工作。

Second, competition among graduates grows more bitter and more bitter and bitter. The supply of university graduates exceeds social demand. This results in a decreased chance for any individual graduate to find a job.

其次，畢業(yè)生的求職競爭越來越激烈。大學(xué)畢業(yè)生的供應(yīng)大于社會的需求，其結(jié)果就直接導(dǎo)致了每個(gè)畢業(yè)生的就業(yè)機(jī)會的大大減少。

Third, some students don’t study hard. Some of them skip classes just because they have no interest in certain subjects. Some play computer games or pursue other interests. Some sleep in class or in the library. Then they leave the sheltered environment of the university campus, to discover they don’t have adequate knowledge to apply for many positions, which makes them feel lost and frustrated.

再次，有些學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)不努力。他們只是因?yàn)閷δ承┛颇坎桓信d趣，就曠課不上。有的玩計(jì)算機(jī)游戲，或者別的有意思的事情，還有的在上課時(shí)或在圖 書館睡覺。 然而，當(dāng)他們離開這個(gè)與外界隔絕的大學(xué)校園環(huán)境之后，他們才發(fā)現(xiàn)他們沒有足夠的知識來申請?jiān)S多職位，因此他們感到非常的失落與沮喪。

Finally, some graduates are conceited. They lack experience but ask for a high salary, which is impractical.

最后，就是一些畢業(yè)生非常的自負(fù)。他們?nèi)狈ぷ鹘?jīng)驗(yàn)，但卻要求很高的工資，這個(gè)就有點(diǎn)不太現(xiàn)實(shí)了。

So, university students should try their best to change this situation. When they are in school, they should make the most of their time and put their heart into their studies. They can hold part-time jobs in their spare time to accumulate relevant work experience. They should take part in some social activities and provide themselves with special training, if possible. When they graduate and apply for jobs, they should attach more importance to accumulating experience than to their starting salary.

因此，大學(xué)生應(yīng)該盡力來改變這種現(xiàn)狀，在校時(shí)，應(yīng)該用心多讀點(diǎn)書，閑余時(shí)間可以做個(gè)兼職工作，以提高自己的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn);參加社會活動，如果有條件的話，還可以接受專業(yè)培訓(xùn);畢業(yè)后找工作時(shí)，他們應(yīng)該要重視工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)的積累，而不是他們工作起薪的高低。

On University Students’ Pressure in Finding Jobs

關(guān)于大學(xué)生的就業(yè)壓力

About a decade ago, university students could find satisfactory and enviable jobs after their graduation. But now, things are different. Today's university students usually have much pressure in finding fairly good jobs. They always say disappointedly that graduation means joblessness. Why nowadays university students have so much pressure in finding jobs?

大約在十年前，大學(xué)生畢業(yè)后就可以找到令自己滿意和令別人羨慕的工作。然而，時(shí)至當(dāng)今，情況發(fā)生的翻天覆地的變化。如果想找到一份不錯(cuò)的工作，今天的大學(xué)畢業(yè)生卻要常常面對著極大的就業(yè)壓力。因此，他 們總是很失望地說畢業(yè)意味著失業(yè)。為什么現(xiàn)在的大學(xué)生有如此大的就業(yè)壓力呢?

In my opinion, this kind of pressure is mainly caused by three reasons.

我認(rèn)為，就業(yè)壓力的產(chǎn)生是以下三個(gè)原因所導(dǎo)致。

Firstly, the government is enrolling more and more university students year by year. And the growth of the students' number has surpassed that of the need of the society. So, when so many students graduate at a time, the chance of finding jobs becomes tiny.

其一，政府每年都在擴(kuò)招大學(xué)生，學(xué)生人數(shù)的增加遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超過了社會的需求。因此，每一次都有那么多的大學(xué)生畢業(yè)，他們找到工作的機(jī)會也就大大渺小了。

Secondly, today's university students, most of them are the "only-child", who are more mentally frail. Since they are indulged greatly at home and haven't been trained to do things on their own, once it is their turn to go out of the campus and find jobs by themselves and decide what kind of jobs to choose, they feel bewildered and don't know what to do. If their first try fails, they will be frustrated and think that it is really hard to find jobs.

其二，今天的大學(xué)生絕大部分都是獨(dú)生子女，而獨(dú)生子女在思想意志上又比較脆弱，他們在家受到嬌生慣養(yǎng)，也沒有接受過要自己去做事情的那種訓(xùn)練素養(yǎng)，而一旦他們離開校園自己去找工作的話，他們就感到非常迷惑，不知道該做什么。如果他們第一次嘗試失敗的話，他們就會有挫敗感，認(rèn)為找工作確實(shí)很難。

Thirdly, some university students are not qualified for good and challenging jobs. After entering the university, they don't study as hard as they did in high schools. They begin to sleep during the class or even be absent for classes. Some are addicted to computer games or Jin Yong's novels, or step into the two-person-world too early. Because these things have taken up so much of their time and energy, their study is neglected. After four years of university life, they haven't gained the knowledge those fairly good jobs or certain positions require.

其三，一些大學(xué)生還不合格，并不勝任那些很具挑戰(zhàn)性的好工作。有些大學(xué)生考上大學(xué)后，學(xué)習(xí)就沒有上高中時(shí)那么努力了。上課睡覺，甚者曠課;沉迷于計(jì)算機(jī)游戲，或者金庸小說;有的甚至過早地踏入二人世界的生活中。這些都需花費(fèi)很多的時(shí)間和精力，因此他們的學(xué)習(xí)也就被忽視了;大學(xué)四年之后，他們并沒有掌握到那些好工作或某一職位的知識能力要求。
