姚明即將升級為“奶爸”的消息被證實(shí)后，全國的球迷可是坐不住了。各大論壇及門戶網(wǎng)站上，關(guān)于“姚小明(Yao Junior)”名字，性別以及國籍的揣測持續(xù)升溫——“姚小明”這個牽動萬千球迷心思的虎寶寶，注定還未出生就已經(jīng)成為眾人的焦點(diǎn)。

　　盡管YY這個字母組合目前還沒有什么特殊的含義，但中國的籃球迷們希望這兩個字母能夠預(yù)示著國家籃球隊(duì)輝煌時刻的到來。

　　本周一，在中國的一檔電視節(jié)目上，姚明妻子葉莉的好友苗立杰透露了這個小家伙即將降臨的消息。

　　"YY" looks certain to be the nickname of Houston Rockets star Yao Ming's first child, whose imminent arrival was broken on Chinese television on Monday by Miao Lijie, a friend of Yao's wife, Ye Li。

　　這兩個字母是姚明和葉莉二人名字的開頭字母，苗立杰在上海的一檔直播電視節(jié)目中解釋到。

　　The letters are the twinned initials of Yao and Ye, explained Miao on a live TV show in Shanghai。

　　作為同在中國女籃的隊(duì)友，苗立杰表示葉莉正在家里靜靜等待第一個寶寶的到來。

　　Miao,who plays alongside Ye on the Chinese women's basketball team, said Yewas quietly expecting the couple's first baby at home。

　　晚些時候，姚明的發(fā)言人張弛在上海證實(shí)了這一消息，這也引發(fā)了網(wǎng)絡(luò)上對于寶寶名字的激烈討論，隨之而來的是人們關(guān)于寶寶身高，性別以及國籍的種種猜測。

　　The news, which was later confirmed by Zhang Chi, Yao's spokesman in Shanghai, triggered a barrage of baby names on the Internet, as well as predictions about its height, gender and nationality。

　　在各大論壇及門戶網(wǎng)站上，人們紛紛為小寶寶起名字。最受歡迎的還要數(shù)根據(jù)全民歌唱比賽“超級女聲”冠軍李宇春得來的名字——“姚宇春”。

　　Suggested names for the child are found in every major forum and portal. The most popular suggestion was Yao Yuchun in reference to Li Yuchun, winner ofSuper Girl, a nationwide singing contest。

　　The facial resemblance of Yao Ming and Li Yuchun has long been a running joke on Chinese portals。

　　相對傳統(tǒng)的，寓意吉祥的中文名字以及那些根據(jù)籃球巨星創(chuàng)造出來的名字，如“姚尼爾”，“姚科比”，“姚宇春”這個名字更受到網(wǎng)友的追捧。

　　The name took the lead over traditional and auspicious Chinese names and those coined with basketball big names like Yao'neal, Yao Kobe。

　　來自新浪網(wǎng)的知情人士透露，寶寶可能要到五六月份才能降生；盡管如此，球迷們已經(jīng)開始紛紛預(yù)測寶寶的身高了。

　　Althoughsources of sina.com, one of China's largest portals, said the babywould not be born until May or June, fans have already made predictions on its eventual height。

　　Buthe added that it was possible that Yao junior could outgrow the father.In a vote held by sina.com, 29,000 Internet users agreed that Yaojunior will be taller than 2.05 meters while 12,592 others believedthat the child's height could exceed 2.2 meters。

　　苗立杰表示，姚明夫婦希望寶寶是男孩，他們擔(dān)心如果是女孩的話，可能會在同齡人中顯得太高了。但新浪網(wǎng)的一則新聞稱，一位匿名人士表示寶寶很有可能是女孩。

　　Miao said the couple had wanted a boy, fearing that a girl might be too tall among her peers. A story on sina.com, however, quoted an anonymous source as saying the baby would be a girl。

　　對于出生地點(diǎn)人們也是議論紛紛，因?yàn)檫@關(guān)系到寶寶的國籍。很多人擔(dān)心寶寶可能會降生在美國，成為美國公民。

　　Theplace of the delivery also drew speculation as it would decide thechild's nationality. Many feared the baby could be born in the UnitedStates, making it an American citizen。

　　葉莉現(xiàn)正在上海的家中，夫婦倆還沒有確定寶寶的出生地點(diǎn)，張弛說。“這是一件私人的事情，請大家尊重他們的決定。”

　　Yeis currently at the couple's home in Shanghai and the couple were yetto decide where the child would be born, said Zhang Chi. "It's apersonal matter. Please respect their decision."

　　關(guān)于寶寶的性別及預(yù)產(chǎn)期，張弛拒絕透露也不愿多做評論。 Zhang declined to reveal or comment on the gender of the baby and its expected date of birth。
