上班汪必知的日常英語表達

身為一個上班汪，起早貪黑，加班都不帶眨眼。那你能不眨眼的用英語說出你每天的工作中發(fā)生的一些事情嗎？

 

 

 

#1 My Morning Coffee Makes Me Perk Up

I’m not a morning person (someone who has a lot of energy in the morning), so I need some coffee to help me perk up. 
作為一個非晨起型人（早上總是元氣滿滿的人），喝點咖啡來提神是不錯的方法。

The phrasal verb perk up describes when someone becomes happier and in a better mood after feeling not so good. 
短語里的動詞這里描述的是某個人在精神不振后變得更愉悅，振奮。

講解： Perk up 表示讓你元氣滿滿，精神振奮的意思。

我熬夜了，所以需要個coffee來perk me up.

Perk up 還可以指To refresh the appearance of （讓…煥然一新）

New furniture and paint perked up the room. 新的家具讓房間煥然一新。

 

 

 

#2 I Look Through My E-Mails And Dash Off Quick Replies

I get a ton of (a very large number of) e-mails, so one of the first things I do is look through my messages. 
我每天都會收到很多很多郵件，所以我每天第一件事就是快速瀏覽所有的郵件。

To look through means to look at a number of things quickly.
Look through在這里的意思是很快速的看很多東西。

I also dash off replies to any messages that need quick responses – the phrasal verb dash off means to write (and usually send) something fast.
我也會快速回復那些需要回復的郵件，短語里的動詞dash off在這里指的是快速的發(fā)送或者寫。

講解： A ton of/tons of指的就是很大量，很多。那么來看一下面的句子吧：

小伙伴們一天都會收到tons of emails，每天check郵箱是免不了的，各種重要信息都是通過郵件來傳遞的喲，又或者是被領導布置了什么任務又或者是被抄送cc（carbon copy）了

為了確保工作效率，我們不得不快速瀏覽完（look through）所有的郵件，并且快速回復（dash off）掉重要的郵件。

 

 

 

#3 I Come Up With a good idea

The main part of my work is coming up with new ideas. 
我工作的主要內容就是要挖掘新的點子出來。

The phrasal verb come up with means to create or invent. 
短語動詞come up with這里指的是產(chǎn)生和發(fā)明的意思。

講解：報告老板，我想到了一個絕妙的注意（come up with a good idea）！

Come up with a solution 想出了一個解決方法

 

 

 

#4 I Heat Up Some Food For Lunch

If I have leftover food (food that I prepared previously and saved), then I heat it up using the microwave, stove, or oven. 
如果我有剩飯剩菜，那么我就可以用微波爐/爐灶/加熱。

To heat up food means to raise the temperature, to make it hot.
加熱食物就是說升高溫度來讓它們變熱啦。

講解：當代辦公室流行的方式就是自己帶飯。每當?shù)街形绲臅r候，微波爐君們總是很忙。 因為大家要heat up/ microwave 食物呀。

話題Topic 也是可以被熱的，topic begins to heat up指的就是某個話題近期很火。

 

 

 

#5 I Flesh Out My Ideas

I have a lot of ideas for the project and I try to flesh them out. 
當我對項目有很多的想法，我就會試著去完善他們。

講解：我要補全/完善我的想法。 當上級給你分配任務時，你有了一定的想法，那么你就要付諸行動去完善這一想想法to flesh out your project.

作家們也可以完善自己的文章，那么就是The author could flesh out these articles.
