Save作“拯救”時(shí)，可用范圍很廣，包括生命、尊嚴(yán)、整體情勢(shì)等。

1. save the day(反敗為勝、轉(zhuǎn)危為安)

In the final set of the match, our team lost the first five games, but later saved the day by winning the last consecutive seven ones.

在決勝盤時(shí)，我隊(duì)雖然先輸了五局，但隨后連贏七局逆轉(zhuǎn)勝。

2. save one's bacon/neck/skin(保命)

bacon用來表達(dá)生命，據(jù)說是因?yàn)橐郧案F人家往往無肉可吃，可以保存很久的培根是他們最重要的肉食來源，因此被視作生命般珍貴。

When the airplane crashed, only one girl saved her bacon. That's a miracle.

當(dāng)飛機(jī)失事時(shí)，只有一位女孩保住了性命。那是個(gè)奇跡。

3. save face(保全面子)

In order to save my parents' face, I have to tell a white lie.

為了顧全父母的面子，我必須撒一個(gè)善意的謊言。

4. save the situation(挽救情勢(shì)、渡過難關(guān))

We are giving ground under the fierce attacks. Reinforcements are needed immediately to save the situation.
