與“茶”有關(guān)的趣味習(xí)語

　　如果有人跟你抱怨他的新老板脾氣暴躁、動不動拿下屬出氣，還老讓他們加班，你可以說：

　　Your new boss sounds terrible, I wouldn’t work for him for all the tea in China!

　　你的新老板聽起來真討厭，無論給我多少錢，我都不會在他手下干的。

　　Not for all the tea in China意思是說“無論對方給我多優(yōu)厚的報(bào)酬或好處，我都不會做……”。這個(gè)習(xí)語出現(xiàn)于19世紀(jì)末期，當(dāng)時(shí)中國是世界上最大的茶葉生產(chǎn)地，所以“all the tea in China”的確是一筆巨大的財(cái)富。

　　英語中跟tea相關(guān)的習(xí)語還有很多，例如：

　　This course is as good as a chocolate teapot, so I want to quit next semester.
