The teacher told the class the story of a man who swam a river three times before breakfast. Johnny laughed.

老師給同學(xué)們講了一個(gè)小故事，說(shuō)一個(gè)人早飯前要在河里游泳，橫渡三趟。約翰尼笑了。

"Do you doubt that a good swimmer could do that"asked the teacher.

老師問(wèn)道:“你不相信一個(gè)游泳很好的人可以做到這個(gè)?”

"No，sir，"answered Johnny，"but I wonder why he did not swim it four times and get back to the side where his clothes were."

約翰尼回答說(shuō):“不是，老師，但我不明白他為什么不游四次，好回到他放衣服的那邊。”
